I think there should be a thread to warn SB'ners. But this is not for flaming just so everyone is aware when dealing and trading.

My first contribution are questions, no warnings....yet.

Question- How long do you have to wait for packages? My longest is a month...nothing more ever.

Question- Has any of your packages been lost in the mail? I may be lucky but it has never happened to me.

Are you suggesting we post answers to them as well?

As an example, I have waited over a month for a few items, but also many did not arrive, so there is that. Packages getting lost - both coming to and going from me, continues to be a pain in my [toy collecting] existence. I think worse is all the stuff you pay for though that just never materialises, for one reason or another, but not due to postal incompetencies. But, there is also a thread for that, so I digress as usual.

Yes! Answers would be much appreciate and helpful for everyone.

Based on what I have on hand I must have well, well over 300 transactions  More incoming than outgoing. Nothing lost. I'd assume the percentage of lost mail is very low?

I for one will NOT ship without some form of reference numbers. So if there's no proof of shipping (meaning references to USPS website) then the item did not leave.

Again, not for liberally dropping names, so PM will work too. At least keep each other informed of shady/ slack characters or guys with bad/good reputation......

Wait time depends on lots of things. If someone is doing me a favor I will happily wait a couple months for a tracking number or even longer. If someone is selling me something for what they paid I consider a month to be fair. If someone is making decent money off my purchase I expect a tracking number within two weeks at the very latest.

There really is no way to measure the odds of something getting lost. Too many factors come into play. Most of the people I know have either had something lost on the way to them or shipped something that never showed up. That's why you never ship without tracking numbers or if it's over 100 bucks get signature confirmation. It won't stop things from getting lost but there will be a trail and proof of what happened. I had a toy held in customs once for 13 months. If it didn't have tracking I would have assumed it was never sent and tried to get my money back.

I would estimate I have 200+ purchases on the boards, 25-50 sales.

9 times out of 10 members I have purchased from ship within a week, always less than three weeks in my experience except on a few occasions. Once I asked someone about an item I had paid for a month earlier, they had honestly forgotten to ship as far as I can tell because of the large size of the sale they had, regular member who then got it right out. Another occasion I realized I hadn't received an item months later, and had to remind the person several times (infrequently, I am lazy) then threaten to out them even, but they finally shipped around a year later.

I have never had anything lost in the mail from either end, even in my out of Skullbrain shipping experiences so I have been lucky that way.

I cannot imagine we need to hassle some guys to ship something that we paid for. One year later?! We have some serious slackers hanging around here.

I mean if someone has all the time in the world to take pics and post stuff on SB and cannot even bring himself to at the very least commit to a deadline and keep to it........can someone enlighten me...I'm lost for words.

Lame wads...douche bags.... no..more like pathetic? NO, what's worst then pathetic?

I had one postal employee switch labels by laziness and two boxes went to wrong addresses and the buyers then had to ship to each other.

I also had one person in China have me ship to his auntie here in the states. After a few weeks he claimed to have not received. PO showed me a sig confirmation. We went back and forth on this issue over the next week or more until his auntie finally remembered that she did get the box and had put it aside.

Receiving from fellow SB members has been pretty smooth.

I owe a package now that I am about three weeks late on sending but it's a free thing so I don't feel to guilty about being lazy.

I've bought maybe 4 or 5 things from the board, sold maybe 3... Never had an issue with things being shipped unusually slow, I usually got everything within two weeks. I usually ship everything within the week, or the week after depending on whether I have a busy end of the weekend.

That's at least my experience here on SB.

Didn't mean to shit on this thread, but apart from anecdotes I don't see much coming from it. Shady sellers are usually called out in their fs threads and the flipper thread got locked down by management. But for what it's worth, the only shady experience I've ever had on SB back six years ago was a toy sent my way from the US supposedly going missing and re-surfacing in the same seller's thread several weeks later.

    I thought that's called "Instagram"..?

Precisely why that shithead's name should have been logged on a dedicated thread like this. FS will get erased over time and its really tough to trace as its specific to a post.

Don't forget to hashtag- #flashyouruglyass

I think the problem with this thread is when you post an angry rant about someone and then quickly delete it, for whatever reason, without explanation or resolution. Much like presenting evidence to a jury and then telling them its inadmissible and to erase it from your mind. So the rest of us are left wondering WTF that was all about :?

    My bad.

I had a slow to no response to a sale gone bad and after thinking long and hard thought it was necessary and at the same time to warn others. Well, right after I posted I got a response. I had the choice of just fack it and leave it there but it was a genuine attempt to resolve the issue...so that was my WTF moment.

See, that's the thing - I don't have definite proof that it was actually the SAME figure, got refunded in full by the seller and don't know that there ever was another problem with his sales (aaand he's only posted one or two things in the last two years), so there's really nothing more for me to say about it than that I got a generally shady vibe from the whole thing; otherwise, I surely would have called the guy out at the time.
