But at least it's unusual... could any of us have imagined having this sort of problem a year ago? Bonkers. Life conspired to keep me from being able to secure the first affordable Goga since Mr.AA was an unknown. I was hoping - expecting, really - to be able to catch up in time for the second batch of holy shit, is this really happening? goodies, and in a blink I've missed 6 more brilliant toys! Waaaah! Tantalus strains to the distant melodies of tiny violins.
That pink GID guts Goga is a thing of beauty. Wish I had the cash to dish out for it, but alas, I'm broke. Like only-have-my-emergency-savings broke. $0.28 of "spending money." Tragic situation. I can't wait to see some glow photos of it when they start shipping out, glow guts in clear vinyl always looks phenomenal, and with that texture there must be light bouncing all over the place.
Fuck a duck really? This definitely present a problem for me now. I have the coin but don't feel like spending $250 on a toy. The debate continues.
Man I wish they would slow down with the releases. I could not pass on the Goga but that's it for me. Having several toys on preorder is not really fun.
Thanks for posting all the updates! That pink GID guts Goga is just too good to pass up. Pricey yes, but it's like buying pink bubblegum, compared to the original prices of the non-mass produced versions (i.e. that crazy price tag of 35K on JYA). I hope that means more Gogas in the future, and what about those little Gogas and crickets? P.S. If you need another reason to justify your purchase, the clear Gogas would make great treat containers! (cat kibble, candy, cookies, etc...)
Christ I'm still debating. I checked the exchange rate and even with shipping and insurance its so favorable now. $227 total. I like this Goga, but it's still a lot to drop. How big are Gogas? 260mm is about 10.3 inches- they seem bigger in pics than they really are. I always have this vision of one in hand the size of my Buta Spaceman or M1 Giant T28. Are my toy dreams two or three sizes too big?
If you are going to splurge on this fancy candy container, make sure you do it locally--no need to worry about exchange rates and extra fees. I put in an order yesterday with Lulubell (hope it's ok to mention this, if not, please let me know, and I'll remove it!). As for size, here's the description: "New from Anraku Ansaku x Medicom comes this 11" tall (280mm) Gogamezilla! Made in Japan. Clear vinyl with pink GID guts!" It's a large toy because in addition to the 11 inch height, the Goga is quite bulky (he weight lifts by grabbing people and eating them )
yup. too afraid to pass this one up. especially the GID pink. Just think of the photos!!!! #nobrainer
I pulled the trigger when I got news Lulubell was taking pre-orders. A Goga with glow guts sounds dreamy. As for size, Goga isn't nearly the size of M1 Giant T28. Goga takes up about the same real-estate as a Badzilla and is roughly the same height. At slightly under 11 inches it's almost the exact same height as most yamomark boot sculpts.
Ehhh that kind of seals it for me. I might regret it but I'm not going to order. I'm on this kick where toys have to be absolutely gigantic or a mini. Standard is meh to me. And being the size of Badzilla is way too small for what I imagined the sculpt to be. Badzilla is only slightly larger than standard. I want 15 inches tall at least, with head even more massive than a giant softball. That's Goga to me...
^ The Goga may not be as tall as a giant T-28, but it has some serious girth. More so than any other toy I've had at it's height.
^ Spot on! I used Badzilla reference because I know you (Lixx) are a Zollmen fan. They take up about the same shelf space and are nearly the same height. However, in hand they are nothing alike. Girth is a great way of describing it.
http://sofvi.tokyo/1511010013/ The next batch. Not sure what to make of them yet. Interesting at least.
^ Haunted Whale Tiamat is stunning. Not really feeling the green Keitosu. At this rate I'm going to have to get a second job.
Is someone be able to translate this? They appear to be influenced by both Harryhausen's Kraken from Clash of the Titans and the constellation Cetus from the legend of Andromeda and Perseus. I definitely see elements of both!
