Has anyone with sticker printing experience, or not for that matter, came across somewhere, or someone, able to print Bikkuriman style foil/shiny stickers? I really want to make some of my own but am struggling to find anywhere that does them. Admittedly, it's a pretty odd brief for most printing establishments.
I haven't used this vendor, but I've heard about them. You can print on clear (or white) 3 mil vinyl, for sheets, and even at 4 mil thickness (comes in rolls). http://www.stickeryou.com/2/about-stick ... ct-quality http://www.stickeryou.com/2/products/clear-stickers/491 You can even create die-cut stickers as well, and other options... http://www.stickeryou.com/2/support/pos ... ut-sticker Again, I haven't tried this vendor, but I've heard people using them to make indoor/outdoor grade clear stickers for business advertising. You could call them about foil stickers? Good luck!
I know a lot of people who have used standout stickers and have always been real happy with them. I know their die cut stickers are spot on.
Thanks for the help so far, everyone. Seems like it's still a bit of an impossible task. The hologram foil stickers are the security seal style ones wherever I go and all other avenues only offer regular-printed vinyl stickers. Hit a real brick wall here. Makes me appreciate the value of shiny stickers even more now.
kuchiyubin on instagram specializes in making them - I believe he has made some for Blurble and some other toy makers
Yeah, I've seen his stuff. I think I need to be his 'friend' before he makes any for me though. Not quite sure what that entails exactly... Turns out that what I'm after is prismatic stickers but that's not really gotten me any closer. Lots of dead-ends or huge printers demanding print runs in the 1000's.
Having admitted defeat (at least for the time being) on making prismatic stickers - I decided to make some regular Bikkuriman-style stickers for now. Not sure what's going to happen with them - will most likely get some more printed up for a future keshi project. Instagram: @drwgco
Cheers Glenn! He's probably become my favourite design too. Dumb little guy as he is: basically a vessel for the brain worms you see throughout.
I have a sticker printer/plotter at work and have been wanting to do some stuff on foil too... if i can source the media i shall shout let ya know just give me a few days to investigate... Nice artwork by the way.
Cheers David: not yet, but it may be worth it. I know he's not made the exact type I'm after but he may have an idea on how to do it.
Rampage toys made a few different styles for a lab mouse release. Might be able to ask him where he printed. I'm guessing there are printers in Japan, wether they speak English and will work with you, I don't know.
Thanks Joe. One of many leads from everyone here now - for which I'm very grateful. I may have a good source now, but I'll be chasing everything up in order, so thanks again to everyone for their help. I'll be sure to give some away as thanks when they finally come to be!
Thanks Rudebeast! I'll be starting a blog for the project soon so there'll be a place for more of it beyond the Instagram feed. I'm just lucky that my partner is talented enough to translate my ideas so well! I checked out that Heleneggshell, too! Thanks Drilone. It looks like she's only able to do single colour prints on the foils but it's a potential lead I'll keep in mind now if the others don't work out.
