I am late to the game here, having just discovered these a few weeks ago. But i LOVE Drexyl. I was able to buy the GID one and just received him. He is amazing! Definitely adding this character to my kaiju cats collection. I wish I had discovered these just a few weeks earlier and I would have bought that first colorway Drexyl too. cindy
Are those all vinyl? I was under the impression there were only two Drexyl colorways so far. I'm guessing the other two are resin?
I'm pretty sure that the figure on the far left is the old resin Drexyl head on a vinyl body, and the 2nd figure from the right is a Drexyl / Hellos vinyl mash-up (1off).
nearly! far left is a one off vinyl/resin mix, 2nd from left is a DIY mash up from a couple of other releases. Nice group! I've got some GID Galaxy People sets up now in the store. For those having difficulties snagging these I'm making this run an open pre-order (but only till the 20th July!)
Here I was, thinking "I'm not going to go after GP anymore unless they're GID"... (Not that I suddenly don't like them anymore, just fighting completist tendencies!) I love open runs. Thank you for doing that, Brian! (And I would be into the lizard-headed guy from the villain set if someone wants the two others and it makes financial sense...) --EDIT: Yeah, with the exchange rate and the shipping and everything, this is not happening...
I totally agree, and was wondering if he does any illustration art works on paper too. Does anyone know? The headers are nearly about as special as the toys are, which is why I wanted to include them in the shots. It can produce fun results shooting toys on window sills, but there's always a small time period to do it in. You don't want the sun behind the toy (well, unless you're using another light source at the front), but as soon as the sun passes by the house, the toy's in a shadow again. You'll notice the difference between the two pics; the sun's in the right spot for the Sensor Bat, reflecting in the eyes and illuminating it to match the background, and although I still like the Drexyl pic, the sun is juuuust going past the house so he's a little flatter than the ambient light. In fact, Every shot of Drexyl after this one, he was too dark to use . So I was lucky to get this. But Thanks, I'm glad y'all like them. The Sensor Bat shot is definitely the best of the two.
Galaxy People have got wheels! Well.... fins. SEFLApod makes its debut at the other big show this weekend, Design Festa.
