Can anyone identify this Skullbrain? I think it's an early release, since the head is very squishy. Never seen it before. Wondering if it might be a test shot.
I don't recognize it, but it's a very nice looking Skullbrain. Maybe Stop by secretbase and ask hiddy? Where did you come by it Andy?
Picked it up at a toy store. Good idea to ask Hiddy. He's rarely at the shop when I'm there, but I'll try to remember to ask him the next time I see him. Here's a detail of the brain within the brain:
Fantastic photo. I'm excited to learn more about it, with any details you can discover/provide. Thanks for sharing!
most definitely a custom/bootleg. red one was discussed on sb before, there are also other colors floating around. boardmembers got ripped off on yahoo a while ago when they sold very high bin prices. sorry for no better news!
Could be a custom. or maybe not. I know there are unique and unusual figures out there which are not customs. I'll talk to Hiddy the next time I see him and figure it out then.
I have one and seen a couple. I don't believe these were official releases. I treat mine like a redheaded step-child !
Interesting. If there are several of the same color configuration out there, it could have been an internal giveaway, or they might be test shots. Anyway should be able to get a final call, hopefully within a week or so.
When these first came to light I remember there being a dye boom of sorts, people were giving it a lot of discussion at the time.
Yeah I remember that. Could well be the case. The extra squishy head is what has me intrigued. If a dye job it turns out to be, no biggie. Still a nice looking figure.
Yeah, which is why I'm still wondering about this one. At first glance it looks like it could be an after the fact dye job. Looks like the only way to get a definitive answer is by going to the source.
Secret Base Mazinger-Z with Robotic Resin Guts! We received a handful of these guys, available now here.
YES! And YOU should know just how good GDP is also. Not exactly hot-off-the-presses news - but BOOM! (as Toby might say)
Beautiful. I was tempted, but have no clue where to even begin purchasing a body to fit. Was also nervous by the 'fragile' disclaimer.
