Tim Biskup X Gargamel Mini Doragamel
Tim Biskup X Gargamel Mini Doragamel. This is Gargamel's newest figure, a colloboration with Tim Biskup (Tim did the character design, Gargamel did the sculpt). The size is slightly larger than a Gargamel mini figure. Pictured is the first release, done using a new vinyl process, clear vinyl with fine aluminum shavings. No paint. Tim was planning on releasing this at the Pictoplasma Conference in Berlin this month, but couldn't get header cards printed in time. Not sure what he plans to do with them now. This exclusive version will not be released in Japan.

If this is the "mini," does anyone know if a larger "regular" size is planned?

Is this the same paint process used on the Smogon and the new standard size hedoran?

The sculpt and the new technique are really cool. It creates for the interesting blend of soft metal you would hope for. Very cool.

Clear spray must look really cool on top of that metallic vinyl...

I wonder if that would set off a metal detector.

Hmmm, not really digging this. I usually love the Biskup, but not this time.
The detail looks flat to me, like someone has dumped a tonne of paint onto it, filling in the finer detail. Also the rings about the neck make it look like a broken spring/nodding head toy. Maybe a painted one would look better to me.

It's cool to see Tim working closely with Gargamel though.

Can't exactly remember the movie - I think it was the Magic Serpent - but this looks like the main bad guy after he turned into the Dragon. Meh!

Yes it is the same process, but it's not painted at all. It's clear vinyl with very fine aluminum shavings.

The neck and arms annoy me.
THe unicorn thing is annoying too.

I'm a Fresh Meat (about Chinese stuff) but it almost reminds me of an attempt at chinese dragons. Mixed feelings. Waiting for another variation.

Makes me question the idea of mixing Eastern and Western ideas like Dr Kozik looks forward too...

yeah... seems like the neck doesn't fit with the rest of the body...?
actually the neck, tail and horn have the same shape... so it might work with some color. some sclups doesn't work just like a blank prototype

i love the head. LOVE IT.

but something about the body feels unbalanced to me.
like the sculpt isn't quite up to the task.

it just feels wrong somehow, but the head is marvelous.

    just my humble op ^^

It looks like a little jack-in-the-box (mmmm... crispy tacos), and the neck is all springy.

    the bomb

Dragamelly is the bomb, just have to remember timmy's style is about two steps ahead of the gang. A year from now when this guy is $300 bucks, everybody will be saying how f'in rad it is. Just think back to the tiny pollard, peeps were saying. he's cute, but why would i drop $50 on a 3" tall vinyl that has no moving parts? Anyone got a black, I have two blue. i trade you.

I tend to agree with Miss Jackie. I think the "springy-Ghidorah" head is pretty neat, but I think it would be better served with a "full-size" body.

Maybe even one of the Bako-kun or Zag full-size bodies, but with some wings, perhaps? Just a thought...

Very intrigued by this new production process... can other metals be used for different colours or effects? Perhaps even a mixture to make a super multi-colour shine?
