i sorta want the gold one... but i don't like the color of the udders and no points of articulation. must agree w/ someone on the other board that the proto looks a bit better. i like this much better than those yang bangers

I'm not a fan of these, I also think the horns should've been a different colour

These, like the MC Supersize seem to have been made in the same factory as the Happy Meals toys . . . crap molding and badly painted shite! . . . the concept and original sculpts of all the English vinyl is on point but the production values on the vinyl kills 'em. I got one of the lil' bronze MC Supersize and the detailing and scupt clarity is superb . . . shame it didn't translate as well onto the big guys!

Not a subtle sculpt or paint. Too kitschy for my taste. They "might" look better to me if they were a solid black or silver or something more subtle. Never understood the appeal of the colour SuperSize either.

I know Ron and like his paintings, but do not feel his subjects translate well into 3d. The only one I vaguely like is the rabbit, and even that is not so great.

Strip away his technique, his painting technique, and the subject matter is...well...kinda normal. Also, whoever does his sculpts is technically pretty good, but
there isnt that weird 'edge' of abstraction that makes it 'artistically weird'. It just looks like 'normal' kitschprodukt, as mentioned above.

I have this same feeling with many 'real artist toys'...I think a person needs to design a toys AS a toy, and not just have an existing d character 'realistically fleshed out'.

this goes for quite a few things (schorr bunnyduck, olivas, etc) I tend to personally prefer stuff like Biskup, where he 'groks' 3d well.

the one exception is probably Woodring, his stuff translates very well.

this is just my personal opinion, and therefore, worthless.

Well said, Frank, and I especially agree about Woodring- his stuff really is the exception, when it comes to long-established artists who already have a well-developed catalog of images and a distinct style- his entire universe really lends itself perfectly to toy translations.

I really felt this was when they released "Coochy Cooty", Robert Williams is my all time favorite artist and the toy was a complete let down for me.

I do however like the McSupersize fig, I think it "translated" well in 3-D, because it's fairly simplistic. I can't judge the figure on overall quality coz I've got AP's.

Totally agree. I love Williams' insane work, but the 3d toy was a disappointment.

I know Bob and he hates hates hates the whole 'toy thing'. He fought tooth and nail against making that Coochie and just thinks toys are lame. I have had a couple of pretty big arguments with him about it. Love the guy, known him forever, but he's totally blind to it. Thinks it 'degrades art'.

I'll have to agree with him when it comes to his art and the Cooty in particular. The end result kinda reflects the disdain Mr. Williams had for it and toys, looks like he mailed it in or didn't participate at all.

The udders are the most important part of the piece (IMHO) and they just look stuck on.

It's not butter until you churn it.
