I think this is the closest yet! Just the texture of the body, the back, and the feet don't really match, but... yeah... The head and the hands are close though. Hopefully they will let us know where the inspiration came from.
These are my sentiments pretty much. It doesn't thrill me; but then niether does the 2HB or regular Bemon, but I can see the appeal all three may have to some collectors. I wonder i it will be as hyped as the others though...
Marilla Space-kaiju di spamper, su Flickr This is a repro of two old bootleg toys (the maker's unknown) from Cosmo knight alpha. The one on the right is called Marilla space-kaiju.
^^ Finally! Thank you spamper! I really like those minis as well, and would really like to see both figures next to each other. Hopefully someone will have both and will provide comparison shots or a family pic.
Hey Frenchy, you don't have to pluralize every goddamn thing. Yen works just fine. Just like shrimp. It aint shrimps
For those guys not in to the vintage scene, those two figures are hollow finger puppets. Great work on the ID Spamper. Now that people have made the 'connection' I would not be surprised if these took off just as much as other Bemon figures, despite the comments from the last few pages. 500 bucks is still way hefty by my judgement, no matter who made it. I'll take a cheap bootleg instead.
I've had a photo of the other one in my files for a while, but never made the connection with Marilla. The name I have written down for that one is "Mayogon." I think both are pretty rare, since I've only seen them around once each.
Thanks Spamper for posting the pic, the first question I asked myself when I saw it pop up was where the kaiju came from, I'd love those two minis (together with that mini ooze it bootleg on the background).
Really. Maybe SB needs a Japanese/Japanese toy sub forum for people who still like "Japanese style" toys.
