It's not that crazy. You can also get a nice fried egg on a burger w bonito flakes that isn't made of cardboard. And don't get me started on KFC in Japan... Anyway - The show is still on TV. Kitaro is a huge cultural icon in Japan. And there was even a Bio from his wife's perspective commonly just referred to as "GeGeGe No" or the "wife of GeGeGe No". Kitaro has been rebooted a bunch of times, but the stories are always the same. Much like scooby doo in america. Probably the closest thing to Kitaro in the US.
But let's get this thread back on track - Newest Kitaro Figure to the line up : Eromodoki エロモドキ So this guy is pretty funny... he appears in disguise as a guy in a pink robe called Iyami いやみ Apparently when Iyami get's pissed/wants to turn up the fun, he turns into Eromodoki, which is actually his true form. You can see this transformation here from the manga, where Kitaro Confronts Iyami and gives him few good attacks, and then Eromodoki comes out and has Kitaro screaming for his life There are a lot of characters from the Mizuki worlds that have never been produced, and I hope linden continues to make these pieces which look to be in the same style and finish as the Bandai 1985 boxed GeGeGe no Kitaro sets. Once my Linden pieces are in, I'll photograph the new Linden works along side the Bandai originals, and see how they hold up. Maybe I'll even make boxes for them. Speaking of Gegege, this exhibit is currently in Taiwan. I couldn't make it myself, but my sister-in-law sent pics:

I now believe to have completed the Bandai boxed 1985-86 set with the acquiring of Shunobon, Yumeko Tendo, and Nupperabou. I'll be going for a shot of all the boxed figures and a group shot soon. In addition, I picked up the Eromodoki and Tshuchikorobi from Linden toys. Thank you so much fellow SB member Baikin for tsuchikorobi being sold to me at retail right off my wants right after wonder fest, really awesome.
