I have been very busy this couple months and dont have much time on board. I have more time now and here is my first post. “TOYS PARADISE – Creativity & Toy Culture of Hong Kong” Toy Museum Show Case will be held from 16 December 2011 to 19 March 2012 Its a show about toys that made in HK, most of them are vintage staff, and there are some bootleg toys in the show i found very interesting. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bonemask/sets/72157629371170013/ anyone know how can i copy all those image links at once or i need to copy them one by one if i want to place it here?
Great post, Ricky! Not sure if there's a quick way to post the lot of them, but here's a few of my favorites:
Very nice pics Ricky. I too love the ray gun with Ultraman heads and Zone Fighter header. Couple other favourites of note are the the crazy Monster in the Moon (gas mask? vs. deerhead wrestlers!!!), the great Hulk on scooter, and of course I am always professing my love for Blackstar (extra props for Canadian packaging!)
That monkey and deer are great, I have a bootleg somewhere like that with the cowardly lions head on a MOTU body, its stupid and great. If only the dollor store still put up some good weird toys.
I know grown men that would kill for what's in this case! There's enough cheap blow-molded polyethylene right there to give you cancer through your monitor!
Awesome!! There's the Bootleg toy Museum in Mexico but it mainly contains Mexican related toys. This is awesome, thanks for sharing.
I have seen that bootleg Skyzel (and the matching Granzel) in Tokyo once -the price was insane! The matching Red Baron is going to give me fits, as I need to find one - I never knew that existed! Anyone in HK who sees these 8-12" bootlegs needs to send me a PM! Edit - I need those bootleg Gatchaman figures as well!
here is the link of the museum sadly they don't have pictures, I wasn't able to stop by last time I was in Mexico City http://museodeljuguete.mx/
I'd love to own everything in that case, but I'm especially intrigued by that Getter 1 knockoff on the left. It's nearly the same thing as the European carnival prize toy but the head is different. I've never known any of these toys to be anything other than original designs based on existing characters, not toys. Are the carnival toys based on this? or vice versa? Are there also other versions of the other carnival prizes? Is there another toy both are based on? As usual, just when you think you know everything, something like this pops up.
Could like to see if anyone can share more photos from Bootleg toy Museum in Mexico. I am fascinated by those Mexican bootleg toys since i found this website years ago. specially like those skeletons related toy. Anyone never see this website yet should take a look. many weird bootleg toy can be found here. http://www.weirdotoys.com/ http://www.weirdotoys.com/gallery/
