Project $10 was an initiative by EA to make the online access to new games a separate part of the value of new games. When you buy the game new, you get a code in the box as part of your purchase that gives you online. The idea is that the code is single-use, so if you sell that game to Gamestop for pennies, when they sell it used for a gross markup, the next guy can't play online without giving EA ten bucks for the added value that they didn't get by buying it new. It is really business sense genius, and from a consumer standpoint not a particularly offensive way to try and get money directly from the content consumers into the hands of the content makers.
Hah, and all this time I thought that online pass code was just to download the suit and weapon dlc for Dead Space 2. Well, that's good to know. I guess I'll just start picking up EA games when they are on sale from now on.
So anyway, played a bit of MK (haven't yet used the online play yet despite chucking up $3 for the code hahaha) and it's like I'm 13 again. Stupid, fun, easy to pick up, visceral, over the top, stupid. But fun. I said "stupid" twice on purpose, one for each of Sonya's way-out-of-proportion breasts. Maybe a 3rd should be there for good measure? Anyway, if you're looking for a fun throwback to the original with new junk and blood then get it, but used. The x-ray attack moves are funny and it's a good pizza-party time.
There should be 2 codes if you buy Limited or Collector's editions. One for the online pass the other for items. Sometimes the items aren't too bad...like in Dead Space 2. If you don't care for items or the online pass, buy a used copy. Either way, developers and publishers get their money from the amount the store orders. The pass is just a way for dev/pub to get something out of the used games industry.
Nope, not on my collector's edition. One code for both online pass and the zealot suit and force gun. Just never realized the code was necessary to play the multiplayer feature online.
Ah...wtf do I know about EA. That Zealot suit is pretty cool. Force gun...meh...it's ok. I still just use the trusty Cutter.
I'm officially addicted, and while online play lags a little more than I'd prefer, it makes it TONS more fun. Anyone else on here have this?
I'd wait till red box...for those non-PS3 owners that means wait till the price drops I think it's okay. The art is pretty cool and all but so far it is nothing to write home about. I think I'm going to get the art book.
just throwing it out there..if anyone is looking for a ps3 fight stick I wanna get rid of mine. its like new, but i cant get used to it and its just taking up space now. Hori real arcade pro 3.. also, i have a psp go with like 13+ games on it. once again, just not being used. I am not sure if its ok to even put it out there, so i wont put prices down. pm if anything or a mod can take this away.
This is pretty funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD_imYhNoQ4 This is better tho : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i-J4PleFuY
I keep forgetting I need to get the book. I loved the game on the first go-through. My next step is to bang out another run of the first game, and then go back and work on 100%ing Returns.
Anyone else playing Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon? It's a huge step up from the original [EDF 2017], but lacks that old tokusatsu charm of the Kaiju Busters series. Totally worth the $39.99 if you like shooting giant bugs for hours.
I finally picked Terraria up for only $2.50 during the big sale that Steam just had and have been POURING hours into it whenever I can. I can't get enough of that game!
I started playing City of Heroes again. Playing a hero so I can get the kheldian. I'm on Guardian playing a dual pistol/dark defender named Bato...at least until I get to 20 to unlock khelds.
It's what I spent the most time gawking at during Comicon (more than bad cosplaying, even!). The dude Capcom had brought to play wasn't that fun to watch, though, except when underdogs were occasionally laying spank on him.
