For one brief shining moment I thought I was complete on these dancin' booties... .. then I found this pic on the internets... aagh... anyone have this mirror man??? NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED
I think the demand for bootleg posed arm figures is small enough to get by without a fistfight breaking out.
Ok so one of my other collections is books, vintage cookbooks mostly... But a few years ago I worked near the midtown library in nyc which had a book sale section where people would just dump off books they no longer wanted and were considered w/o value.... we all know where Im going with this. Kind of like Crate Digging but for amazing old books for a dollar or two.(R.I.P. due to the 09 budget cuts) I got this one early on, its called NEW JAPAN volume 17, 1965 by Manichi Newspapers (got it for 2 BUCKS!). Manichi seems to be the Nat'l Enquirer judging by their website these days, but this was really a glorified PR campaign for Japanese Industry. Lots of fantastic vintage ads desigin and great design tho check it out. Oh almost forgot the pages are 11"x17" No yellowing and like new! Primo Condition Slip Cover Cover Sampling of random rad ads Check the vintage mazdas and isuzus! Check the flickr link for to view large! http://www.flickr.com/photos/abejr/sets ... 385762456/

Very interestin cross section of things in this thread. That is a great Halloween / monster collection Shiverbones. These little guys are cheap and rubbishy but I really like 'em ... just wish I had a full box.
This really eary (late 40's - early 50's) advertising sign for PEP batteries is a real beauty .... has to some of the best artwork I've seen & I could resist it when I spotted it.
Found this "dancing bootleg" version of Amazon.. doesnt technically have the disco arms, but same leg mold as the others.
We've only lived there for three years but no signs as of yet, not that I believe in that sorta thing. There are some super secret hidden spaces in the floor that we can only assume were for prohibition. And by spaces I don't mean some small pull up one board to hide a fire box kinda space, I mean a concrete hole that's 6' deep 4'x 3', crazy big. I have the original blueprints as well, I should snap some cool shots of those too.
