Not gonna say the best, but CABLE

Totally underrated and under-appreciated band that influenced many who went on to more notoriety than deserved.

From CT? I'll have to dig through my old 7"s because it's been a long time since I listened to them, but definitely good and Vic was a good guy.

Their recent 2010 demo is only three tracks in length, but I listen to it over and over and over.

    Loss
They have an mcd / 10" and a couple of splits. Their full length comes out soon on Profound Lore and I am geeked for it. When I saw them open for Agalloch, I was blown away.

Please check out these two amazing US bands if you're into doom whatsoever.

An old standby that I never grow tired of:
    Amenra
Some of the choicest progressive sludge you will ever lay your ears on. Some people might not like the vocals, but I love them. I just ordered their new split and live dvd. Definitely one of my favorite bands.

sHEAVY - Savannah is probably one of my favorite songs ever.

Truckfighters would be killer to see. I just wish they were coming to Florida. I drove to Athens / Atlanta twice within four days for shows. That is not a fun trek.

bansheebot - you should make the drive up to atl. it's their last stop on the tour, so it will probably be a killer show.

Thanks for the heads up. Their first album was in heavy rotation in our house, so far the new one will be as well.
New record outsold Brittany Spears in Sweden. I wish the U.S. could say the same.

So, I just found out that Truckfighters changed their tour schedule and are now playing Ralph's Diner in Worcester on July 14th. I am so fucking psyched. I haven't been to a show since before my daughter was born. Haha.

I wouldn't really call Torche doom at all, but regardless, they are incredible, especially live. I saw them play a secret show one very humid, disgusting night last summer in a fucking 10' x 20'-ish storage unit in the middle of nowhere. Just me and maybe less than twenty others, many not fitting into the thing. But I'd be damned if I wasn't going to be near the front for that. It was probably the most memorable show experience I've ever had. I can't wait to see them again in a couple of months when they come through with Big Business.

Finally got to see YOB again last night in philly. The performance was fuckin amazing and definitely the heaviest live show on the planet. And I managed to snag their new album before it's out. 8)

I ended up going to the first show of the Truckfighters US tour last Wednesday in Providence, RI. It was at a tiny hole in the wall venue, with maybe 50 people there, and it was amazing.
