So the Shibuya branch sent me the wrong Gezora. I just got word that the sent me the right one free of charge. As a bonus I was told to keep the wrong one as a gift. Now that is customer service above an beyond. I love Mandarake!

damn, that's awesome. the last few orders I made, they were out of stock even though it was listed as "in stock" for months. just a funk I'm in I guess. I still love Mandarake though.

Has anybody else bought something from Mandarake that's supposedly " not opened " but has obviously been resealed ( restapled) ? I've had this happen with the last two RxH figs I bought. Not a huge deal since the condition of the figs was fine but if i'm paying more versus a loose figure I expect it to have never been opened.

Yeah it is lame when you order an item that you later find is sold out, that happened to me twice. I had to return a damaged item from Mandarake, but unfortunately did not see it till I opened it, they gave me a REALLY hard time even though the were sent clear photos of the damage. After spending near a couple of thousand dollars with them I would expect a tad more courtesy. I returned it anyway, they refunded my money. Lesson learned....inspect item before opening package! With such a fuss made over this its really amazing that we get a report of re-stapled RxH's being sold as unopened MIB!!! Anyway I like Mandarake's selection and there are good people working there however some assholes work there as well so buyer beware!

Edit: I added & tuned up: I like Mandarake's selection and there are good people working there however some assholes work there as well so buyer beware!

They can be great but sometimes they are terrible with returning customer service emails.

Yeah that's the one thing. Sometimes you have to send 3 emails to get a response to a simple question. I always just figured it was a language barrier thing and that they just had to wait to translate to come up with the best response.

They're probably getting lost in the swarms of e-mails from people who are having their erotic comics held up in customs.

it is definitely the language barrier which can delay things,,depending on which store you are dealing with...i believe shibuya has the most internationally-inclined staff...

i once had an issue with the osaka chaos store & it took a while as they forwarded my mails onto shibuya & shibuya acted as translator...it took a while but everything worked out in the end just peachy...they completely refunded me but let me keep the wrong toy which was sent

I usually get a response within one day from: international@mandarake.co.jp that email is for the main customer service center that deals with all international orders from every Mandarake store locations throughout Japan. They are usually pleasant to deal with, however as we have seen, they don't always treat their customers well and have sold opened re-stapled items as mint in the bag, they can be a drag, there are good people working there as in Lixx's great experience however some assholes work there as well so buyer beware!

Finally, today I got that glow pink M1 Gezora in the mail! Complete on the painted glow versions! Sure it was sent SAL and took awhile, but I didn't mind. Mandarake will always be ok in my book for sending the correct one for free and letting me keep the mistake as a gift. Tops in my book.

Congratulations, however Madarake has lost some face due to the hard time they gave me when I tried to return a damaged item and sending RyanM used opened merchandise as unopened mint in the bag condition and charging a premium for that!

i am trying to xmas shop....

i noticed if i select 2 figures from the same location, there is no handling fee applied.

if i select one figure from the same location, there is a 500 yen handling fee added?

so...is there no handling fee if you order more than one figure then?

    thanks kru!!

Man I really love Mandarake! Not only did they give me a free Gezora a year ago when they sent the wrong item- on top of getting the original order, but I wake up with a christmas paypal refund of $30.64 for shipping! Top notch toy store.

^^^^ My experience with Mandarake has always been pretty good . . . . i get the 'already sold out' email about 35% of the time - so there's always that day or so of apprehension before they reply - I'm used to that now though so i don't count my chickens before they're hatched. It can be disappointing BUT i can't just walk into one of their shops so I'm just grateful they deal with Gaijin . . . they charged me double on postage once and although it took quite a few emails to get a refund - it all turned out OK in the end.

LOL. I've never had an issue, knock on wood. I get updates on orders, shipping numbers, and it's here from anywhere in Japan in 4 days usually. I long to visit Japan and walk into one, I'd probably lose my mind.

I can say one thing for certain, the in-store staff is equally amazing. I have far more experience with this than ordering online, but I really got to know some of the staff at the local ones I frequented. They were superb folks, knowledgeable about sofubi, always willing to be extremely helpful, and even went far beyond the call of duty for me a few time. Mandarake rules!
