Usually a fan, but I'm not really feeling how this character translated into a Kaws toy. Looks like the head is about to bobble off.
I always assoicate tweety bird with fat gross redneck women with yellow sportscars... So yeah I hate this a lot. It's really weird that the Disney and Star Wars stuff is tasteful to me, but this is just lame.
Totally! But then I associate all of Looney Toons and Disney with that demographic. Many years ago I had a job where one of my dumpy, trashy co-workers wore L.Toons and Disney sweatshirts and jean jackets all the time and ever since then I've had an unshakeable revulsion towards those companies merchandise. God, now I've got her stuck in my head and am thoroughly disgusted all over again. I can practically smell soggy Cheerios soaking in spoiling milk!
That adds to the suck honestly, NT sorry to remind you of Soggy cheerio's and gross rednecks. Let me revise, I think Disney and Kaws are a better combination than LT and Kaws. But that's probably because he doesn't deviate from the formula as much, they already have big gloves and shoes, so the only changes are X X over the eyes and the little skullgrin thing.
the yellow one is awesome! don't know what it costs, but i know it will be more than i would be willing to pay.
I like this, not as mucg as Pinochio, BUT $299 each or $549 bargain two pack price is just too pricey. For Pinocchio I was willing but luck was against me. No disrespect to any stores selling these by the way. But Mr Kaws if you are reading this - arent you pricing out your long term fans with baller pricing like this for a (relatively) large run toy made in China?
i like the tweety, especially the black. no question about being pricey even by japan retail standard. wonder how much influence kaws has over the pricing these days, or is it completely decided by medicom? also curious if the higher than usual retail price is caused by a shorter run than the pinocchio as the tweeties soldout much quicker than usual at OF.
Agreed - weren't these JPP's about $85 ea when they came out a couple of years ago? And don't tell me 'licensing' accounts for the difference.
if you took $85 and converted it to yen back then when the jpp came out... and converted that amount back to US dollars, it would be about $9,456 today. the price of the tweety sounds fair to me. i did the math
So how come I get notification that the the piece-of-shit overpriced Tweety is available but I got nuthin' for the $200 steal of a deal Pinocchio set . . . blech!
