Started this drawing of my favorite little toy a while ago, but never got around to finishing the color. So here's a neck up shot because I wanted to share, and might eventually finish it.
I love seeing the talent on this thread... G&F I really like the colors on your painting, fun. Here's one I did for a group art show coming up in Chicago at the Oh no doom gallery.. 10 x 10 gouache on canvas, inspired by all the Japanese toy box art.
Thanks Jeff, but actually I use colored pencils! I've never picked up any paint skills, so I rarely use it.
thanks! i knew which colors to use (my favorite colors ), but it took me some switching around to get them where i liked them on the frankenghost
thanks , I had been admiring other artists header card art, and things like bad movie poster art, robot toy box art. I was thinking, I should stop being a pussy and try my hand at that. So much fun to make. I'm learning as I go along. My perspective is a little off here and there, but that's just how it comes out. I wanted to challenge myself to work with a new medium. I think the next time I get offered a solo show it will all be this kind of stuff. Most of these have sold already, which is great. The smaller format is cool too, helps keep prices affordable.
another gouache painting, 8x8 on canvas... I've been away from work for a week due to an injury, so I have been passing the time by doing these gouache paintings... fun medium. This guy is M5 Bravo, a robot / kaiju hybrid.. who may be appearing in vinyl form someday. Here he is going through space trials, this was before he became self aware and went off on his own.
