His stuff has never translated well and that MINDstyle set seemed to bite the dirt pretty early on when they realised no one would buy it. And no it looks like he's given up on even designing anything...yeah just stick some vague boney jaw where the mouth would be on a vector that'll do.

I'm glad to see this sentiment echoed.
He's definitely had some hits but I never really understood most of his efforts.

    Really??
With respect to your opinion...I absolutely disagree. Ron English is brilliant with the canvas but in regards to the "toy" aspect he fails every time. The rabbit was close but still was just an absolute poor translation. I can't imagine buying the rabbit and saying it was representative of English. I wouldn't waste the money. He's one of those people that just doesn't translate well and he should stick to one medium.

I personally don't like Amanda Vissell's art or toys..however they really go well together. Her toys are a direct translation to her art and work well. It's just nothing that I would personally collect.

first 10 inch mc supersizes are pretty awesome imho, cant say they are badly "translated"...
minis are best blind bagged toys in ages.

ron english doesnt seem to care much about toys - sympathetic in a way. :D

My opinion on this toy changed when I saw the hifructose colorway. It is much more appealing to me like this than the one pictured above. It's amazing how color can do that.

^^^^^^^^^I agree. I thought the regular colorway was downright boring. The frosted to clear is really great and changes my thoughts about the toy entirely. But I'm still not loving the star eyes.

The star eyes make me imagine an arbito custom. I bet they'd be more appealing if he painted one.

If I saw that skull Warhol bust in a gift shop, I would consider buying it. But for anyone to be peddle a fucking skull bust for "designer toy" money is BULLSHIT!

Its 2010, at this point what "political" or "pop" artist hasn't done a fucking skull bust??

Probably. I don't know yet the actual resin color. I mean I could paint one up at the signing.
