Fun thread Jim! Here's a TPS wind-up inspired by Horikawa's series of robots. TPS isn't known for robot toys but they are one of my favorite tin toy companies. I posted lots more pics and info on them on my site. http://ralphcosentino.com/2010/04/tps-1 ... ile-robot/
Thanks! Here he is in action - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzUzu44J2vw (The batteries seem to be almost drained, so he moves a little slow...) Every single robot you've posted is insanely great! I'm such a sucker for crazy vintage robots, I could stare at these all day...
The flip tops are some of my favorite designs ever! There were a couple at Morphy's...and even though I don't really collect 'em, I couldn't help drooling over them through the glass cases!
i did manage to take some crappy pictures at the morphy auction. i was definately feeling the same love for these as sanjeev.
^^ Yup. THAT'S the one that did it for me! ^^ Friggin' kaiju head splitting to reveal a human underneath? Fuggin' crazy!
