Meh on this. And I don't know how I feel about Tron legacy either. I'll probably see it even with the 28 year gap. Gotta love Flynn.
I love mickey but I don't really know what else could have been with this. It's pretty much in tune with the rest of the VCD Disney/mickey toys with the exception of the artist series. On the otherhand I think this rules IMHO
I was about to post that Dino Mickey but Alex beat me to the punch. Not feeling the Tron and the Jack Sparrow is too movie hype for my taste but I do like this one as well. I just wish his pose didn't require a stand. I also like this one, so anti Disney in atitude I love it!
Tron is produced by Disney, what's ruined? It's not like it's Mickey as "fill in some indie cred idol here" or anything, it's Mickey, Disney's main man, dressed up like a character from a damned Disney movie. OMG?!!?!!@!1111!!! I see nothing offensive about this at ALL. I'd have thought the VCD of Mickey ripping off the Clash album cover would've pissed more people off. It'd be cool if it lit up, like the glow parts, otherwise Medicom's been doing this for a while with the Mouse, so whatever. I think it's cool but wouldn't own one. I don't really collect Disney since I'm not a suburban 58 year old widowed mother living in an empty nest (disney lovers, that's a joke, chill! )
there was a discussion about it once on the KR board long ago, I think many Skullbrainers chimed in. I still think the toy rules. Little know fact is that the artist Roen ripped that design off of Kozik. Truth: the clash rule but sold out long before someone did this.
That's just silly...he's already wearing a space suit. I do think that TRON Mickey would be allot cooler if he glowed.
Yeah, that's fine with me. I love Tron but I'm realistic on 2 points with it 1- It's not some holy grail not to be touched (nothing is to me anymore) and 2- It's made by DISNEY! None of that stops me from enjoying it. That would be bad honestly. Not because of any sort of "my childhoods been pee'd on way by a giant corporate giant who created my childhood anyway" but because it'd be poor design. The Mickey is designed pretty well. Kevlo9 is right, he's already in a space suit thing. The right move would be to put Mickey in a Buzz suit which I'm guessing has been done. If it was Mickey as a Watchman character I wouldn't even been offended at this point, I'd just laugh. I guess I'm just at a point where companies can do whatever they want, it may be bad, it may be a joke but it doesn't really RUIN the original for me. It's not like I'm gonna watch Tron and keep thinking Flynn is Mickey and they just screwed with my brain. To sum it up: Who cares and who's really surprised anymore? ps- I know this post sounds more aggressive than I mean for it to be, sorry, it's not meant to be. Don't imagine me here frothing at the nerdly mouth please.
I agree, i am pretty indifferent to the figure and the the flesh face is out of place. Probably subject to Disney's direction rather than Medicom. I'm counting the days until the new movie though, they had the light bike prop replica at the UK toy fair and it is amazing.
