Judge tags ‘Utah’ graffiti woman with six months "A globe-trotting graffiti vandal who admitted to tagging brownstones in the Back Bay and trains at an East Boston MBTA yard was sentenced to six months in jail today in Boston Municipal Court, prosecutors said." Additionally, I think she should be charged with the crime of breaking Americas hearts! Can't wait for the Zooey Deschanel bio-flick on her. Seriously, I actually snapped some pics of her tags in NYC back in the day. No idea who did them until now.
Snitches get stiches right? Menendez those parents ASAP. (not for nothing but she probably has a 6 figure career ahead of her now that she has made a name for herself as an authentic 'underground artiste')
Her parents? Really? I think you're mixing up "informed of" with "informed about." According to what I have read, her parents let them know when warrants were issued so she (and her partner) could avoid getting arrested. "Police sources told The Post that a search warrant was executed at Bremner's apartment earlier this summer, prompting her family to tip off the accused Bonnie and Clyde of graffiti as they were tagging trains across Europe."
Have you guys read some of the comments left on that article? You'd think she had been killing puppies and kittens by the way some of them sound... I may be a bit naive about this, but jail time for tagging buildings seems like a monumental waste of tax dollars...
I'd be interested if you could come up with 3 things that aren't a monumental waste of tax payers money I'm pretty sure taxpayers money's sole purpose is to be wasted.
is that a liquor store that has the best fresh baked muffins? i wish my liquor store had some of that going on...
Nope, it was a corner store at 23rd Street and 6th Avenue on NYC. They actually had some fairly mediocre muffins. Also, yeah. The comments on any article related to this are hilarious. The thing I'm learning about the U.S. mentality is, if someone does something visual and touches property, people freak out. But if it's abstract—like stealing millions/billions through mortgage scams—people barely understand that and just say "They are all crooks!" And then do nothing. Get these dingbats as riled up about healthcare or bankers or even those ENRON scumbags, and you know what? That would make sense. And yeah, that place serves bad muffins.
it could be worse...we could be like japan and turn a blind eye when our government and its leaders waste or swindle tons of money.......oh wait.....nevermind.... is it me or does it seem like they go after the best artistic looking graffiti artists. like they seem to get artists...or does it just not make news when they catch the people responsible for the untalented graffiti?
The lesser talented taggers don't usually travel so much. And they're usually not attractive. Therefore, less attention when they get busted.
and lesser talented grafitti works don't take a long bit of time to make. the longer you stand in one spot painting, the more cars that will drive by and notice...
Chock it up to misogyny or classism or what have you, but I don't picture women like that running around tagging shit. Kind of funny, you never know who's behind some of this stuff that you see all the time... although you're certainly prone to cast your own mental image on the originator (same holds true for our chats with online folks we've never met).
haha. every person that i have given a mental face to that i eventually see a real pic of them on here are not even close. they tend to look a lot like their avatar made into human form in my brain...
She is cute and her tags are cool. Wonder why no picture of her partner in crime? I wonder if the Fashion Institute of Technolgy will take her back when she is out of jail? This is not the last we will probably hear from her. The US legal system is completely wacko when it comes to crime and punishment. The jail/prison system has become an industry to itself, and it must be fed. In this case, it eats her.
So everyone in this thread would be happy with a "utah" tag having shown up on property they own? Playing devil's advocate here. I like some street art, but I hate tags.
I would love to "tag" Utah... Bear in mind this came from the sensational Boston Herald, which just moved some copy by featuring Shepard Fairy over and over and over....just after the election.
i would be pissed if i found the word utah on my car. i hate tag names. stuff is so unoriginal, i don't care how interesting the font is.
I can honestly say that I wouldn't care, but I'm a goofy bastard. The only exception would be if it was poorly done or contained something offensive. Swastikas immediately come to mind.
Great, liquid and I will be over to spray paint your car and house. I'm still waiting for another sex comment about her.
