I'll post up a pic of the rocket next to something so you'll get a sense of scale. It's a pretty good size. Were there a fair amount of vinyl rocket toys with pilots made in the old days? I only see the tin ones.

 

Super Jetter is the little guy in the rocket, from the 1965 anime:



The toy is made by Nostalgic Heroes. It's about 8" long, so actually bigger than it looks.

I'd love an answer to this question. I'm interested to know if rockets like this were a common theme in older vinyl toys.

@ toybot - there is a full color version that I've been chasing forever, but I've only ever seen it as "sold out" on the nostalgic heroes website. now the pic isn't even up anymore.

Yeah, I just got excited with my tin toys again looking at your vinyl space toy.

 

Here's the space vehicle from the Marusan Tederos line (vinyl). You can't see it very well in the picture, but there is a little guy sitting in the cockpit. This is probably about 8 inches long. I also have a submarine type vehicle and a drill dozer from this series.
