Okay. Forgive my newbie-ness. Are the CCP Spectreman figures just repressings of the original 1970s Masudaya molds? This is what I am assuming but I wanted to make sure. I watch the price of these figures swing wildly and was just wondering if maybe that was the reason why.

And why the price hike with the molded hair Masudaya Dr. Gori vs. the rooted hair (the one like a Barbie doll)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Try posting your questions in the JAPAN TOYS section, you'll probably get a response there. Welcome to the boards :)

Thank you, Mr. Humphreys. I believe that someone has taken the liberties of redirecting my post to that particular forum. Thanks again!

Yup. Most of them are from the old mold. I know Bakura has a modified version w/o the face on the stomach.
Dr Gori with real hair is vintage. All vinyl is repro. He's more popular hence the price.

From what I know CCP obtained the license to repro this range for like 2 years and that was it. I'm not sure what the runs are, but in general, the price is peg to the popularity of the figures.

Anyone in the know please chime in or correct me if I'm wrong.

Kuromonz has told you (almost) everything.

Only Spectreman and Ra have not been reissued by CCP.

All reissues have been released initially in 2 color ways : original & 2002 CCP version EXCEPT for Gokino Zaurus which has only been reissued in its original color version.
The Bakura has indeed been resculpted on the stomach for the 2002 version.

Of what I understood when I met Endo Naoki some years ago, they are all from the original mold except for Mitsukubi Ryu whose mold has been lost. This is to be confirmed though.

More color versions for most of the monsters have emerged since the 2002 repro series.

Thank you very much kurumonz and plasticXO!
Do you know how many of these figures were made?
And Bear model, I assume, had the rights to the same molds or are they another animal entirely?

I have no idea of the production run of the CCP.

Bear model produce their own versions. These were not released by Masudaya.

Today I received my CCP clear with orange spray Kurumaniclas (the one with the sash -- Can anyone translate what it says, incidentally?). I have been after this toy since I started collecting Japanese vinyl, and I am so happy to finally have him.

I have one of the two (that I know of) Marmit Parababies on the way, as well.

Does anyone know how many Kurumaniclas sofubi have been released in all?

CCP - Clear with orange (sash)
    CCP - Brown
    CCP - Yellow / orange
    Marmit Parababy - Blue
    Marmit Parababy - Orange

There's an old thread with photos here.

Then there's that more realistic CCP version, which doesn't count in my book.

Always with some helpful info. Thank you, sir.

So it appears the CCP repro has three versions, then? Hmm. I'm glad I got that one out of the way first!

    The hunt continues!

Congrats for the clear Kuruma. This is the one I got first actually some years ago and I am still looking for the regular one...

Did you notice that the clear one is slightly larger than the others ?

Now I am not 100% sure the clear one was issued by CCP. It is a repro and was released for an event (don't know which). As CCP had the right at that time it should be them, but the size difference is puzzling.

You listed all the color version that I know of.

Thanks, guys. Totally geeked on getting him. I now know the feeling of wanting a toy for a long time and getting it.

For the record -- No, I didn't get him off of YJA.
