i recently sold a heroes box set on ebay, and once it arrived at the buyer's house, they sent me an e-mail claiming that the first disc wasn't in the set. that same day of recieving the message i found the disc, sent it to the person, and e-mailed them letting them know that it was on it's way. not even a day later i got a paypal claim stating "i still have not recieved the first disc." wtf?! did the guy expect me to send it to him via same day delivery?! and paypal now pull the funds from you instantly on a dispute instead of actually taking the time to look into it. after a few weeks of fucking around with paypal systems, i decided to just take the $20 hit. man, i really hate this instantaneous/"on-demand" lifestyle the world has conformed to!
This is why I haven't used Ebay in so long. Everytime I think of selling on the site, I cringe from the anticipated headaches.
and did you know that sellers cannot give negative feedback to buyers anymore? i think i just may start bidding shit up with outrageous prices since i won't have to worry about the bad rap of being a dead-end bidder!
Ha. So true. Certainly appears that all Ebay cares about now is the buyers. As a seller you get bent over on a regular basis due to their "improved policies". As a seller on eBay these days you send out the product and just pray, that after all is said and done, you get your money.
had a simaler probally with someone recently with paypal paypal put a hold on my account due to the negativity from a dispute so i provided tracking and PO receipts and eventually just paid it as i had to pay someone else now the thing is still being reviewed for about a month does anyone know how long they usually take on these thing i hate paypal
Since Ebay owns Paypal, that's pretty much the case. You can deal with money orders, but those take fucking forever, if they show up at all, and a lot of people can't be bothered. I've been done with Ebay for a while now; it's just not worth the hassle.
I've noticed that a lot of people think that everyone is just out to scam them and seem to take an honest mistake personally. Ebay and Paypal are just horrible! I remember one time that a buyer from a country I wouldn't ship to purchased something that I know wouldn't clear Customs- and what does Ebay tell me? When I contacted customer service to ask them how I could cancel the sale, they told me that I should really open up to International buyers because I could probably sell more. Huh? I've called both Ebay and Paypal about other issues and I swear that they don't even listen. They should just remove their phone support and replace it with a recorded message that says "go fuck yourself" cause it would waste less of my time.
i actually called paypal today to straighten out my ordeal fearing the worst they where actually very helpful and friendly got one guy who said since it was international had to talk to some manager didnt wait very long told him my story he reviewed over the phone and got my money back very easy so if your paypal dispute says its getting reviewed its best to call them up i still hate paypal and ebay there a bunch of thiefs
I haven't personally used it, but there's Google Checkout. I'm pretty sure it's through specific retail sites that it can be used. Sorry to hear about the lame ass buyer SLM.
thanks man. i think i'm done selling shite for awhile. as for other online services, i can't think of any. i remember there was once that bidpay site as an alternative to paypal, but like paypal, you can only send money to other bidpay members. and since paypal is a monopoly, it's next to impossible to find any seller who uses anything else. i really think ebay needs some competition though....
I just recently had some a-hole open a claim against me on payapl. This idiot buys a toy on ebay, I sent it to the address PP provided, he sends me an email a month later saying were is it, saying he forgot to update his info after he moved, Sorry, not my fault,I got a tracking # that says it was delivered to the address provided. I would re-ship if I got the other one back, but I never did... DUMBASS...
another complaint to add to the list of ebay shattiness. i've been cleaning house with a bunch of crap and decided my dvd collection was so big that there were ones i haven't viewed in years, and probably never would for a few more. anyways, i listed a bunch of them. turns out you can't charge more than $3 s&h for any dvd. so if you try selling something that weighs a ton like the complete OG battlestar galactica tin case edition box set for example, you better find a way to ship it for under $3, including your $0.75 delivery confirmation!
Seriously, this isn't really a problem. You build whatever shipping costs above $3 into your starting price. (for instance, if it costs $10 to ship, then start the bidding at $8 instead of $1)
