i don't like sushi. sucks cause there are about six sushi joints near my work. i'm more of a yakitori or tempura man myself.
Masu in Portland is quite amazing. It is the only place in Portland (I have been to) that has crispy torched-to-order unagi. They have a very afordable daily happy hour menu, full bar, NO conveyer belt (like most portland joints) and are in a well designed, modern loungey environment.
Great Name and Even better Sushi - located in Santa Cruz California My wife and kids took me to Santa Cruz for Father's Day...hung out on the beach, purchased a deck at SC Skateboards, and ate at Pink Godzilla right across the street....great relaxing day Anyone else been to Pink Godzilla?
Awesome! Way to go on digging up this thread too! I will have to make a trip down there, worth it just for the sign, do they have any cheap crummy souvenirs there or am I going to have to steal that sign
T-shirts for $9.50 was the only souvenir but you can probably take one of the paper menus and their Pink Godzilla printed napkins for free
I was in Burma yesterday, and we went out for Sushi. The food was great, but I can't remember the name of the place.
Nobu in Schaumburg here in Illinois is freakin' great. When I tuck into their sushi, I get a feeling of euphoria. It's like an angel crying in my mouth lol! I took mini Zag with me on Saturday, as my GF took me out for fathers day. I snapped a couple of pictures which i'll post up soon. Nobu do an incredible soft shell crab roll, and its massive! dammit, now I want sushi again *drools*
Sushi Palace = Hamden CT The owner was trained by Iron Chef Morimoto, I go to this place once a week. Although its an all you can eat sushi bar the fish is SUPER fresh and high quality. Also they are SUPER strict on a " Order all you can, but eat all your order" policy. You MUST finish what you eat before they even will allow you to order more.
I had a surprisingly good sushi experience in SF the other night at Jimisan's near 9th and Irving. It had the trifecta: really good, fresh and inexpensive. highly recommended.
i shed a single tear everytime i pass the cold, dead, empty building on mission street that used to be country station, where great sushi and really loud, heavy rock joined forces. *cry*
Santa Cruz - Pink Godzilla Sacramento- Fuji and a joint with dollar hand rolls can't remember the name Tucson- Sushi Cho, Sushi Ten, Sushi Hanna
Sushi Main Street - Half Moon Bay Hiro's - South SF (bento boxes are a great deal, and so many roll specialties to choose from!)
Shogun- Northridge Iroha Sushi- Studio City Sushi Dan- Studio City and West Hollywood Sakura- Panorama City (okay sushi, but bomb Japanese food.... and this place is a total dive) ....and theres this one place in Pasadena that I forget the name, but they have water that surrounds the sushi bar and they have boats with sushi on them that go around, and you pick up whatever you like
