PURE and Good! Scott you keep threatening!!! As our once great Governor Tom McCall once said (and this is the truth = aimed at you Californians) - “Come visit us again and again. This is a state of excitement. But for heaven’s sake, don’t move here to live.”
Maybe we can have SBer nametags for the less cool people (Read: not LASK) who haven't had the opportunity to meet any other members yet? Hello my Skullbrain Username is:
Any good pubs or bars near Grass Hut skullbrainers could use as a meeting point either before or after?
yes, ACE is the palace to stay. There is a bar though up on 28th on our side of the river that a skullbrainer even works at. I can't remember the name, odd since i don't even drink. It will come to me though. Anyhoo they are good peeples and even were major organizers early on for the adult soapbox derby.
I dunno about "good", but... The Doug Fir is across the street - can be tough to get seating though. RonTom's is down the street - it's ok. The Galaxy is up a block - it's trashy and has karaoke. The Chesterfield is a few blocks up - haven't been there, looks like hipster heaven? Those are the only places I can think of off the top of my head that are within just a couple blocks. For those needing a hotel you might wanna stay right across the street at the Jupiter Hotel - it's part of the Doug Fir. If you want a cheaper place to stay and don't mind hearing honky-tonk until 2:00am try the White Eagle - you might even see a ghost!
Nat - what the fuck is wrong with Honky Tonk music??? You young'ens with your hippity hop jive........... Lets see - Accomodations: there the seedy Travel lodge a little further up Sandy after the split. Lots of rooms around the convention center area a few blocks away from GH heading North. There is a NEW VooDoo Doughnuts just up from there in and old Artic Circle building - would be a good place for a meet up. - other bars in the area: Club 21 Sandy (SL)hut Blue Room Recommend a great Greek Deli a little further up on Burnside - Foti's! Amazing Gyros and calamari to die for!
