Re: McCain picks Palin i find it horrifying and perplexing when people take these ads as gospel truth. the dumbing down of america is frightening. the elderly lady that sits next me at work is frightened by obama and will probably end up voting for Mcdork and co. She said that she was a HUGE supporter of Hillary, but doesn't like Obama. When I asked her why, she said that he was full of rhetoric. I then pointed out that Palin is the anti-Hillary, but to no effect. I want to live in kaiju country, where the monsters and robots live.
Re: McCain picks Palin This had me LOLing! http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/palin-hillary-open/656281/ Palin and Clinton impressions.
Re: McCain picks Palin "Although it is never sexist to question female politicians credentials, please ask this one about dinosaurs."
Re: McCain picks Palin Ha ha ha- yeah that had me on the floor- and the bit about Hillary not 'wanting' it.
Re: McCain picks Palin that is hilarious...but i selfishly hope that there will be no need for too many repeat performances of tina fey's sarah palin impersonation. may the election results send her right back to alaska/obscurity.
Re: McCain picks Palin I fear that if they don't win, this will not be the last we hear of Ms Palin. In all likelihood, they will spend the next 4 years grooming her and keeping her in the public eye, and she may well be the first female president. Unless she cocks up royally, so much that they can't cover it up or explain it away, I would fully expect to see her on the 2012 ticket.
Re: McCain picks Palin quote: Palin is in a favorability free fall. In just 4 days, since her interview with Gibson in fact, the gap between those who view her favorably and those who hold unfavorable views has almost disappeared. According to Research 2000 polling, more than half the country held a favorable opinion of Palin during the 3 days prior to Sept. 11 (52%) while 35% held unfavorable attitudes. That was the day the Gibson interview aired. The 17-point net positive has fallen, as of today, to just 4 points: Sept. 11: +17 net positive Sept. 12: +14 Sept. 13: +9 Sept. 14: +5 Sept. 15 (today): +4 Palin is by far the least popular of the 4 candidates for Pres./VP and I don't think her slide is over yet. Because she is McCain's creation, she is taking him down as well. He had a +13 net positive just three days ago, then +12, then +9 and today just +6. By comparison both Barack Obama and Joe Biden are holding steady at +16 net positives. As I argued yesterday, Palin can help drag down McCain. Certainly, in the end, it's about McCain. He decided she was the best prepared after all. Her inadequacy tells voters so much about McCain that bad news about her will continue to hurt him as well. http://www.openleft.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=8242
Re: McCain picks Palin All this polling is a waste of time and money, IMHO. I think the majority of voters made their decision months ago, before the VP picks and conventions (infomercials), and the "undecideds" are such a small group that it doesn't matter either way.
Re: McCain picks Palin Couldn't disagree more. I mean, sure, a lot of people have decided already, but those that have not may end up deciding this thing... unless there is a landslide one way or the other.

Re: McCain picks Palin Just read this hilarious 'hip hop' news... "Juelz Santana wants to bone Sarah Palin"
Re: McCain picks Palin You're probably joking, and I am no conspiracy theorist, but the discrepancies between the (traditionally accurate) exit polling results in the 2004 pres election and the final vote 'count' does make one wonder. it's going to take a lot of convincing to make me get on board with electronic voting...
Re: McCain picks Palin I love that. Sorta reminds me of this slightly more acidic rant from 4 years ago..which still rings true: http://www.fuckthesouth.com/
Re: McCain picks Palin People may have decided months ago who to go with, but Palin changes the equation significantly and might make them drop McCain.
Re: McCain picks Palin Which do you think is more likely, that these people will: 1) stay home or 2) vote for Obama? I think the last election showed us that many voters have the power to hold their nose and vote for who scares them the least anyway.
Re: McCain picks Palin The Sarah Palin Baby Name Generator! http://politsk.blogspot.com/2008/09/sarah_13.html
Re: McCain picks Palin Fuck, I just laughed myself sideways. I now demand to be known by my Palin-given name of... Commando Coalfire! I'd like to truncate the "Palin" part at the end of the name, however.
Re: McCain picks Palin Commando Coalfire sounds like a superhero name. Mullet Troll sounds like it could have been a nickname for Levi.
Re: McCain picks Palin I think it's a real threat. I don't think it's one of these top down sort of big conspiracies like in the movies, but if an election is close, someone could easily change the results in one or two districts and change the outcome of an election. That's why the whole nation needs to go back to paper ballots. If California can do it, any state can do it.
Re: McCain picks Palin By the way, McCain's lead seems to be fading. Looks like the Palin factor is going away. I'm already bored with her.
