I'm sorry if threads already exist on this topic, but I thought it bore repeating... If you are even remotely a Terminator and/or sci-fi and/or Summer Glau fan, you absolutely HAVE to check this show out, it is SO FREAKING RIGHTEOUS, I mean, IMHO, up there with Firefly good! So dark, so loyal to movies 1 and 2, well-acted, great characters and character development, sweet action... And tons and tons of Summer Glau as ridiculously awesome terminator hot-t!!!! Anyone else addicted to this show, and just counting the weeks until Fox pulls a classic move and cancels it?
yeah i have really enjoyed this show, and i was excited to see that it was coming back . i think it was in limbo at one point in the offseason, so maybe it dodged a bullet. definitely one of my favorites last season
Is it back on then? I say 12 episodes and thought it was Kool- but the ending was wack, no type of conclusion. So now they are continuing it? Termy 4 next year also- batman as John Connor, all set in the future, should be good!
I thought Sarah Connor Chronicles was pretty dumb, but there was something that kept me coming back every week. I thought it was hilarious that someone could be married to a Terminator for years and not realize that there was something wrong with them. I've heard many awful things about Terminator 4, but I'm not kidding myself, I'll see it.
See I think SCC is pretty sophisticated, very loyal to the storyline, well-acted, and sophisticated. But hey, to each our own. But krikey, Summer Glau.... mmmmm
I'd call it complex, but think calling it "sophisticated" gives it too much credit. The writers have dumped a whole slew of humans and terminators into the past and haven't done a good job of explaining why. In the first two movies (which this series is a sequel to, not the third), the only reason Skynet sent Terminators back in time was to kill the humans that would defeat it in the future, not to ensure its own creation. Why would it send a terminator back in time to gather alloys and sit in a bunker for a few decades? It's also sort of laughable that John and Sarah, who are supposedly very adept at faking their identities, haven't done anything to change their appearance over the years. The photo that the cops have on file for Sarah looks exactly like her. Ever hear of scissors and bleach? Also, overall the series just feels cheap. Aside from the occasional CGI terminator walking around, it really reminds me of early X-Files episodes. (And yet, I watched every episode, so go figure.)
Oh, and Summer Glau, while cute, is really just playing the same character she did in Firefly. She just has a harder skeleton. ;p
Dang Roger, way to tear apart my new-found obsession! Again, to each our own -- I am absolutely digging it, and reprising her roll from Firefly makes it a good thing in my book, 'nuff said. Also, movie number three does fit in, I realized -- movie number three is the future John Connor's past, how it went down, but not the actual future of the characters in the TV show... I think. Anyway, it made perfect sense to me last night.
i watched the first 2 episodes, then missed the 3rd. being obsessive compulsive, i cannot fathom missing a chapter in a story, so i haven't watched anymore. been meaning to pick the set up on dvd. i thought it was pretty good, based on the 2 episodes i saw. I was a little irritated by the cheesy line of dialogue: "class dismissed." or whatever it was along those lines when the bot was posing as a teacher in the first ep....
I believe there are three timelines/continuities: 1) The first three movies. 2) The TV series (which ignores the third movie) 3) The Terminator 4 timeline (which may or may not ignore the third movie and/or TV series) I think someone on Wikipedia has sorted them all out. The main reason for these existing is that there are different sets of producers for these franchises, all trying to make their own "branded" universe. If you ever get the chance, read the original novelization, it does a better job with the "I'm my own grandpa" theme than the movie does.
So shizzy in the hizzy is out? Anyway, I just bought my T:SCC season one DVD, and I am going to sit down right now and enjoy. To those of you who are not so into it... You suck! heehee.
So I just looked up this show to see when it is back on. They say season 3 did not get picked up. http://www.savethescc.com/ BTW just finished season 1 of "Breaking Bad"... Bryan Cranston is now a living god. 4 thumbs up!
