detolfs could prove to be unsafe in times of quakes---if knocked down, shattered glass = not nice. how stable are these cabinet systems since i don't one? my house is being built within the fault line radius, i guess i prefer open shelves and ledges.
my clear DX sukero kun fell causing the newest DX to plunge off the shelf, otherwise everything else was ok.
most cabinets, bookshelves, etc. come with a doohickey that you connect from the top of the cabinet to the wall to stabilize it. which reminds me... i should actually use them doohickeys.
I have never been in an earthquake, but I have had drunk mates knock into my detolf and it seems pretty stable to me. I would be surprised if one tipped over.
