So a while ago a picked up one of the UltraQ monochromatic kaiju from X-plus. Then another, and another. I think I have a pretty good collection going of the X-plus stuff and with each figure I am more impressed with the sculpts, quality of the vinyl and paint-ups. Dig some of the upcoming figs: Zaragas comes with additional plates to hide the rocket launchers!
are they vinyl model kits that come painted but unassembled or are they figures? either way the realistic detail on them is really really nice.
They're vinyl - most of the time they are assembled but sometimes you have to do the hair dryer technique to put everything together. Pre-painted too! Hobby Link Japan is a great and reasonable source for X-plus stuff.
It just sucks that they used to retail at Toys R Us Japan for about $20 and now they are double that or more.
I think it's Jamyra. Size-wise they are normally 10-12" , but some of the 4-legged guys tend to go long. I have a few that are around 16" long! X-plus did sell stuff for a while via TRU. Those versions tended to be of a lower quality and size along with being blister-packed. The newer kaiju tend to be in a nice window display box ,heavier vinyl, much better painting and tend to be more durable than the earlier versions.
True, I am just bummed they are so expensive as I was buying them regularly but when the priced jumped I had to stop. But even some of the blister pack figures were $50 retail. I need to get a couple and compare them, I never bought and opened a more expensive one.
