Longtime YJA bidders, please drop an opinion. This YJA handle was an infamous sniper before YJA changed its bidding policy. What do you think?
Im not a fan of shigahara71. I would be so bold to say yes, something not right w/ that user. Jason, do you know what policy changed? was it instated to stop shill bidders etc?
No, just that now you can't snipe on YJA, I believe that you can enter a last moment bid, and then the auction conclusion is set back another 10 min. and bidders can continue to reset the "clock" until there are no more bids.
That's what I thought because I see them buying and selling on both ends. I may have even purchased something from them before. Can't say for sure unless someone actually knows them in person.
How where you screwed ? I always liked it as you had the option to think about what your doing. But I can see that shillbidders can make a killing this way.
Rich, a couple of times recently it just seemed like some bidding IDs have been used to jack up prices at the very last moment, and it was an alternating set of IDs.
Yeah I have felt the pain also, so I'm betting your right. But in the end if I had to chose I would chose the 10 minute rule everytime.
Well, I'm sure there are a few sellers out there that recognize which buyers tend to go large on YJA sales, so it shouldn't be too surprising that some shill bidding might go on. Best thing to do is set your final price, and if they outbid it... let them win it. If they get stuck having to pay for the stuff they're bidding up, it might make them think twice.
Kaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnn!!!! http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/sh ... =b89061743 Totally nuts. I finally had to put the crack pipe down. Two more of these have been sold in the 40,000 yen range recently, but no header for either of thoses..... Yikes.
