This is my first ever attempt at customizing a RxH figure. Or anything aside from western vinyl figures. After seeing LASH's amazing customs on his blog page, I decided to give my hand a shot.
Used the Flesh Akrokaiser in this pic:

Any feedback helps, so lemme know what you think.
    Like it? Hate it?

    Thanx for looking.

Is that paint? If so, it's a very nice application... looks like it was cast in that color vinyl rather than painted.

He started with a flesh akro, what else would it be besides paint? The blood of dead babies?

I really like how this looks, right now its very clean, if the whole thing ends up flowing this nice its going to come out great, can't wait.

My weapon of choice is typically rit dye...

I kinda like it as it is... I'd leave it like that... walk away from the Akro... :D

    Wow such an insightful comment...

And of course Keith has shown his customs at Super 7, so he wouldn't know anything about other methods of color application right?

Back to the figure at hand. it does look like it was cast in those colors, a bit bright for me but that's a personal preference. Nice job!

Looks good Malek! I actually like the vibrant colors. I probably leave it as is, but adding an evil eye like lowenbrow mentioned may give your akro some added interest. Anyway, definitely a successful first RxH custom.

Thanx for all the comnpliments! Gives me confidence for more customs to come.
Loco is a winner. RIT Scarlett dye. Great minds think alike. :D
I was really impressed with the RIT dye. Does look like the vinyl was cast in that color. Just plan on some details as mentioned. The eye and maybe some highlights here and there.
Now- to begin on a Mutant Evil.

    Great job.
One question though, is the face more of a tangerine color?

It sure is. I wanted more highlights on the face. Then a darker body- even darker hands and feet- and a "dead babies blood" vest.

Looks great. Nice dye job. I think the orange and red completely compliment each other.

Wow, I can't believe what a solid job the dye did. Beautiful! I can't wait to see some detail on this guy.

Do you guys like the liquid or powder stuff?

How long do you soak a piece of vinyl? Does it have any long term affects on the integrity of the vinyl?

    I used liquid.

Soak the fig as long as you have to to get the desired color.

    Shouldn't affect the vinyl's integrity... I hope.

I don't think dye will effect the integrity of the vinyl. It can however leach into other figures over time if they happen to come into contact with each other apparently.

    I think this looks great.

You hear that all day long

Anyways, I do like the paint app on this, It looks heavy in a good way, like its the original color. I would just consider pick out some of the colors on the guy like the eyes and teeth maybe. Id keep it close to the main color though, like a lighter or darker red unless you plan on doing some additonal colors. The fades on it look great if the pics is true to the color.

with one color dye you can do lots of shades, just remove items at different times for different colors. Longer in the dye darker you get.
