ET...the game responsible for single handedly destroying the video game industry. If it wasn't for this game and it's affect on the industry, we may not be where we are at now. The game is also a record holder in the sense that it was created in 6 weeks. The History of the Atari 2600...Waring: 8pgs long in case you're too young to know about the ET game... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-pzdPLfy9Y As far as character deaths go...this is one of my favorites. and...a video of the death. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvjajVf3BEc
i played yars revenge for so many hours i thought the character death was kinda lame though when you shot the satellite thing though- that was awesome
My other favorite is the death of a blood elf in World of Warcraft. It's really well done when you see the blood elf gasping for air and reaching out then finally dying.
man i was raised by sierra games! i rarely bring them up in talking about old video games, because nobody ever seems to know what im talking about! i spent so so so many late nights playing those games when i was a kid! the re-issued most of them recently, but i cant play them on a mac. lame!
killer instinct that game rules i play that game occasionaly could never figure out how to do the finishing moves
dude, fuck those fucking bees they still make me mad years after the last time I played this game. just thinking about them even.....ooooooooh
haha yep - that was the first computer game I played (prior to that we had a vic20, which doesn't really count, although you could programme basic on it). I think leisure suit larry was my favourite series though, i felt so NAUGHTY playing those as a kid, even though i'm pretty sure I wouldn't have got a lot of the jokes. 2 & 3 especially were awesome. sucks about not being able to play them on a mac, i remember downloading the old EGA ones and them not working properly (funny that)
I totally forgot about that. That game had some pretty gruesome funny stuff in it. I always sucked at it.
If you have a pc at least one of the kings quest games has been touched up with new graphics, music etc. I think they were working on one of the space quest games as well.
haha i dunno if you're talking to me or him, but he said he has a mac there.. i dl'ed that KQ, wasn't into it.. can't remember the KQ i had, the one that was based on fairy tales...
I like all the Dragon's Lair deaths, but that is my fav, Dirk gives the player a dirty look for getting him killed
D'oh!! I missed the entire part about having a mac!! I think the fairy tale one was no.2? No. 3 was the one with Mannanan the wizard where you started out as his apprentice, can't remember the others?
Gauntlet 2 for the NES had some great sounds. When you would die the character would spin around and this strange voice would cackle. Thats still one of the funnest 4 player games ever.
