So who's jumping on this, now that it's out? I've been waiting for a few weeks, and scored the painted one today. Can't wait! I didn't even realize it glows! What a seriously awesome Dream Rocket kaiju toy, really well done it seems even by Dream Rocket standards (which to my mind are very high.)

    The Figure Looks Sick !!!
And I love the unpainted one.
I just have to think long and hard about that $135.00 price tag.

Dream Rocket toys are always a favorite of mine, and I've been thinking hard about jumping into collecting the Akakage line. I absolutely love this Doguma. It's just that $135 tag, and the fact that I have so many other figs from so many other companies that I'm scrambling to collect right now that's keeping me from clicking Add To Basket...

Being broke doesn't help either, but I can't say it ever stopped me...

Thanks for the heads-up. I've been waiting for this since Kirby announced it. Honestly, when you consider the quality of this $135 isn't bad at all, IMO (and I'm on a serious budget right now). I've got the "counterattack" vesion that Robert posted, and it's seriously one of the nicest, most well-made toys I own. Dream Rocket rules.

...and the Darkness version that I just got.

$135 is seriously not that bad when you consider what gets shelled out for other toys these days. I'm curious about the casting process for this one- how do they do the dual-molding technique for the inner glow vinyl? From everything that I've heard, DR actually uses two vinyl layers for these toys, rather than simply sloshing around GID paint in a clear toy.

Hmm, I wonder who bought the OG Doguma off K-T. Kinda regretting not grabbing that one...

You and me both  The unpainted version for me, though.

I am still waffling over this version due to its price. Knowing me, I will waffle too long and miss my chance.

I've seen the unpainted pink glow up for sale recently at a somewhat inflated price...PM me if you don't already know where I'm talking about.

Regarding the price on the Radioactive...yeah, it's up there. Adding the glow jumped the price up about $20 at retail plus the overall cost of petroleum products is starting to impact vinyl cost as well as shipping. I would have loved to price this under $100, but it just didn't work out that way. It wasn't easy for us to pull the trigger on the project, but I couldn't miss the chance to work with DR.

Magic it was. I don't think I've ever been so happy to open a box of toys...and so sad to pack them back up.

And yes, Sunrise Cafe is pretty fantastic when you've been up all night (and generally pretty darn good even if you've had some sleep).

I guess what it comes down to is, is one toy that is $135 really so much, when you will often pay 60, 70 bucks or more each for a few figures at once, and they really aren't in the same ballpark? Don't get me wrong, I adore my Secret Base guys a ton, but the craftsmanship that goes into something like this Doguma really is just off the charts. I think someday soon Dream Rocket will really skyrocket in popularity, prices will probably jump, and folks will kick themselves for missing pieces like this, the Max Toy Co. exclusive Gabari, etc.

Saw it, hesitated cause I was (as usual) hung up on a bunch of bids, missed it in all it's flavors. Are there any still up for grabs anywhere?

Just got mine last night, and I have to say that the paint job smokes the Counterattack. Much better and more vivid than pictures would suggest. If anyone's on the fence, you won't be disappointed. Thanks Kirby & Whitney!

    Pony arrived. Neigh.

Just to chime in with the others, my suspicions have been confirmed that this piece is, in fact, 10 times better when held in-hand. The metallic blues and reds complement and contrast well with the nukular green vinyl. I don't know if I like it better than the Counterattack, but they both succeed in different ways.

One thing that bothers me a little is the bubbling in the leg-tips, which is much more pronounced than in the Counterattack. I imagine that this is due to the double-molding process used for Roto's version (i.e., liquid vinyl probably is not as accommodating as GID paint), possibly confirming that both were made using different processes.
