Thanks for all the nice Matango remarks, S'Brainers. I had to put the camera on the sidewalk and I couldn't see through the viewfinder. I wish the composition was better, but I was 'shooting blind'. That wasn't the only obstacle. There was a guy running up and down the sidewalk pulling a tire stuffed with 80 pounds of crap. He also had a modfified medicine ball stuufed with extra weight that he was bouncing at the same time. I was so in his way---he was kinda' pissed: There's a pole-dancing dolly up in that barred window in the upper right: I digress...
I figure that Rocky dude is probably training for some mountain climbing? That "pole dancing dolly" is typical of the sort of impromptu weirdness that you see on many residential streets in San Francisco that I totally love. Details you might filter out and not even see if you didn't take a second to observe "somebody actually went to the trouble to put that doll there so others would see it." Sometimes it's good to stop and smell the dada. Well, not smell necessarily...
I live about ten blocks away from you. we have a dude that walks backwards down the block, then forwards the other way. sometimes he makes the whole block backwards before returning the other way forwards. sometimes its just 15 feet backwards, then 15 feet forwards, then 15 backwards, etc... I love living in the Mission.
