Just a heads up to all you retro Vinyl collectors and Kaiju Big Battel fans alike. I got word from the main office that Studio Kaiju will be selling a limited number of the debut Kaiju Big Battel toy made by Marmit Japan at the San Diego Comic Con! The toy Sky Deviler is 11” tall, green vinyl with a blue overspray. I was lucky enough to pick one up today and I must say they look AWSOME! For pictures, check out restocked!Marmits Website. But keep in mind, no photos can do this baby justice! If you want one, and you know you do, make your way over to the Kaiju Booth in the Dealers room ASAP, they only got 100 figures and they will NOT be restocked!
Have you got a booth number and a landmark or two to go with that? Great love for Big Battel and all brave families, but have never been to SDCC before and have short attention span, easily distracted.
Hell just follow the guys in the suits they are constantly walking around... On the SDCC site there is a pdf map and you can look up the booth, fair warning, if you decide to print it you will have to tile it... its giganthonormous!
This is a great figure, and hopefully the start of an interesting new SERIES of figures from Marmit. FTL : Just one thing : I don't think he's actually 11" tall. We were shown the proto at Pachikaiju (see : http://www.skullbrain.org/bb/viewtopic. ... ht=#125009) and he didn't look that big. Also, all the mags have him listed as 22cm. which makes him the standard Japanese 9" size. Including those horns though? I dunno ... could be I guess.
which mags are you talking about? i'm not questioning your credibility, I'm just wondering where the toy was featured! I was also given the Go ahead to announce that Kaiju will have some new DIY DVDs of the past 3 events (sphadoinkelmania 18, All Out War and Someone Must Die!). should be around $10 a piece and are limited to con apperances only.
crud -- I'd love to get my hands on this! Figures that all of the good stuff goes down at SDCC. I wonder if they'll ever sell these on their site......
if they have any left after the con, they're gonna sell them online. Your best bet is to keep an eye on eBay.
Ironking, sell one to another fellow Bostonian, me, at cost. Especially as I can't justify flying to the west coast for SDCC. Not trying to lowball, just saying...
Yea, real smooth. As for the toy, I think I'd like it if it weren't for the metal-toothed-ridged-anus mouth. I hate mouths like that.
i've been lurking for some time.I put aside 10 for sale on our site (kaiju.com) They will go on sale after we get back from SDCC. Also if they sell well I will order another 100 from marmit, hopefully in a new color. Also if you know someone in japan they can mail order it from the Marmit website, in Japan the first 500 come with a specil DVD. If it sells well they want to make Uchu Chu and Dr. Cube. Must go pack merch for SDCC now.
eBay gets no love around these parts I see. Why not try and bid on it? You never know what kind of deals are to be had on ye ol bay of e. Anyways, I'd love to see Uchu chu as a toy. People keep forgetting that Dr. Cube is a Human. Who in the world wants a human as a vinyl toy? My vote is cast, and its for Uchu.
