Not the first time I've caught it, but anyone else seen this behavior before? The seller had put this Sphinx up for auction previously and it seemed like it was going to end at or around 80,000yen (I was outbid long before it reached that high and knew I would be, but I threw one in for the heck of it). Anyway, I got a notice from Buyee saying the auction had been removed. Not long after it is relisted with a starting bid of 165,000yen:

If you refuse to settle for what the market is willing to pay then maybe you should just start the auction at the lowest price your'e willing to accept as to not waste people's time.

It's not just YJA, the last three auctions I've participated in on eBay have been ended early by the seller. It's simple greed, and it's bullshit.

Well... here's one I purchased back in '21.

I think Hirota's recent works may be to blame for sellers attempting to cash in on the original lot of odori heroes.

$365 USD and with so much ink on the legs. The price escalation on these and other vintage Bullmark/Marusan is just wild. A standard variant Marusan Goji sold on eBay for $2k USD a few weeks ago which is the highest number I have ever heard way beyond even YJA: https://www.ebay.com/itm/355509810805

In case anyone has some bucks left to spend :| >>>> ($3,239,775 USD)

Soft vinyl Marusan Red Antler, bought for a high price at a store in Tokyo in December 2002. The name of the store is a secret. Loose janja. Not a recent reprint. Other than that, unknown.

Net information: Around 1978-1982, a prototype was made in an attempt to officially reissue it. Reprinting was eventually cancelled. I do not vouch for the contents of the Internet.
