I remember that, but nothing in there about switching to a twice yearly format. That's pretty big news!
Well, the mooks are going to be bigger, so to expect them on a quarterly basis like the magazine would be unrealistic. I just want to clarify here that I'm not speaking in any official capacity for Super7, I'm just connecting the dots.
Yeah I hear you. Mooks are pretty popular in Asia. Some of them can be huge - several hundred pages. Can't wait to see what sorts of in depth articles are in store for the upcoming S7 Mooks!
the new issue looks great but I was kinda sad when I finished reading it because it was the last one we will ever get to read. Bring on the Mook!
I gotta subscribe, I just sued to be able to grab em' at Tower Records, but now they're gone and I can't find anywhere to get em'.
This could be cool.. but my ADD prefers instant gratification something to read all at once and then wait for the next
Recieved the new mag today...Sweet! Can't wait for the first mook, hopefully it will be S7 and Unframed on crack!
Wow..that cover, while unexpected, is very cool. And those Popy boxes? Drool. The Joshua Izzo JJ pic is great!
Wow! Well, I like the move to the mook - but I don't like the move to just being published twice yearly. I realize that they couldn't do the mook format quarterly, but only getting the magazine quarterly was tough enough - it just feels like such a long period of time between issues. I'll take the good with the bad and be happy...
wow...first, you guys change up the binding on the magazine and then - BAM - it becomes a mook!! Super7 has been super-sized!!! Congratulations on the new (upcoming) format---looks like it will be hot! And, issue number 15 ain't no slouch either...anytime Lord Vader is on the cover, you know it will be good!! I was reading it by flashlight last night, like a kid sneaking peeks at dad's porn! (of course, I haven't had electricity at my house for twelve days, thanks to mother nature's icy lovin'---that I FART A LOT!---but I digress). Any of you that don't have a subscription should quit farting around and get one now...
Got my mag in the mail, read the flyer about the new "mook" format. . . . . .while I understand the value of getting 200 pages, the bi-annual schedule bums me out. I also hope that S7 does a "paper cover" to add some, well, "color" to the rather plain cover. Bi-annual also means that any news that makes it into the mag will be, at worst, over 6 months old (since some stuff will miss the press date for the previous mook six months earlier). And I know the S7 people know that Hi-Fructose remains a quarterly, and PlayTimes Magazine is revamping their subscription structure. Bottom line, there are lots of choices, and between these three mags, I'll get good a good vinyl fix multiple times a year. bob
Most new toy releases are posted somewhere around here first anyway... not to mention that a ton of stuff sells out immediately and neither mag nor mook can be printed quick enough to matter...take the new Balzac "Zodiac" release for example...cool packaging, toy, etc. but only a handful to sell...it would look good in a magazine layout, but your actual chances of owning one are not very high...
