Did my Zag highjack @Anti Social Andy Zag’s plane or did they do two versions - TO Zag with standard plane and standard Zag with TO plane?

 

Definitely the latter! I recall them being a mix and match pair of releases at the time, but was curious if the croucher was released as a 'standalone' dude.

The version above is from 8/11/2007 ( I THINK you had to glue in the propellers)
Andy's is 9/27/2008 (Propellers were already intact and part of the front plane)

Yes, you are correct - I have the props - they are black and there are instructions for how to fit them.

 

But bizarrely featuring gold instead of the trademark red!

 

The sticker with the Odoron looks like Usugrow, isn't it?

 

It's been so long, I can't remember his name. Not Usugrow. Really nice dude. Was professional skater in Japan, and now talented artist/tattooooo person.

Thanks Bryce. I wonder what he is up to? last IG post 307 weeks old, and the link to website is dusty. I have one of his paintings buried around here somewhere. I need to hunt for that. Odoron has to be top 10 Gargamel sculpt. It's so good. The hidden boat. I loves it.

I see I am already following that one. Maybe he is like me. Starts something, gets it rolling, forgets password, abandons everything.

 

This is somewhat random, but I discovered recently that Nozaka-san did the design for a Hot Wheels Datsun 510 that was sold at the Japan Hot Wheels Collector Convention in 2022.

 

I'm not familiar with Gargamel's older stuff, but I was surfing through their gallery from the links that were posted (thank you bryce_r), and would agree that Odoron is fantastic. There's a water/wave blue colorway that's fantastic. Elegab also has a "wave monster" called Namira that's super rad. Maybe I just like ocean monsters.

 

better late than never... I didn't get back home to grab mail until today, and I was super happy to find the Zag as well as the thrashman and the rest of the gang!
