    Hey Folks,

Does anyone here have or know of a full list of all the middle size medicom kamen rider toys? These are the 6 inch ones with the blue header cards. I am going down this rabbit hole and I want to start checking stuff off.

    Thanks!

Here are my first two :)

Rus, guessing you got these without their packaging- Medicom typically includes a constantly-updated, full-color, fold-out visual checklist with these. It's pretty eye-popping and insane - SO MANY figures in the standard and middle size Toei Retro lines!

Most recently-minted figure I got from this collection was Eleki Botaru; I'll try to scan the insert he came with some time over the weekend and share it here (but I will say my scanner has been tetchy, of late).

Thank you! That would be amazing!! these did come with the checklist but I've seen a bunch of versions recently that aren't on it.

I do indeed! I don't have a checklist (yet!), however, a while back I began creating a comprehensive database of Medicom's entire Toei Retro Sofubi Collection to keep track of things. It exists only in spreadsheet form at the moment but I hope to publish it to the web in the distant future. It's intended to be better than Medicom's existing database which is simply in order of release date; newest from left to right, top to bottom. I plan to have things sorted so one may categorize figures by release date, TV series, episode appearance, etc.

For now, you can access Medicom's general database of middle size figures here:

    http://www.medicomtoy.co.jp/prod/3/26/6/

Unfortunately the middle size figure line is all grouped together, so heroes and villains from Android Kikaider, Barom 1, Robocon, and others are mixed in with those from Kamen Rider.

Best of luck on the hunt! For anyone just starting the middle size figure line is a real pain to collect. Not as popular as the standard size figures, they come up for sale much less frequently. Some older Kamen Rider villains can fetch for 20,000yen or more on Y!JA and Mandarake. I regret not starting to collect them when they first came about. I've been playing catchup for the last couple of years and I'm still missing a fair number. That said I've come a long way; I have 71 Kamen Rider heroes and villains (more on pre-order), a complete set of Barom 1, and a few others. Being determined and patient has paid off. I was able to track down most of my collection for Japanese if not U.S. retail prices, only splurging on a few rarities here and there.

I absolutely love the middle size figure line and I'm happy to see it's still going strong. Hopefully some of the older villains get reissued again. Keeping my fingers crossed we'll see heroes from other Toei series in the future (Akumaizer, Choujin Bibyun, Condorman, Inazuman, Space Sheriff, and more).

Raul comin' through with the great info!

I gotta say I love the middle size line so, so much. Great sculpts with a lot of shelf presence for their size; great paint; highly portable for maximum on-the-go, outdoor pics fun. Not to mention easy to preorder the new releases direct from MCT Tokyo as they come out. I have limited myself in what I buy in this line 'cause you could really go crazy, but I love what I have. Just need them to do a Cactus Bat in this size! Please, Mr. Medicom, please!

    Unless...

I know, I know... I'm breaking a rule, posting to a live auction... but... I mean... come on...

I didn’t realize I could order as they are released from MCT! Is this the link where I would find them?

YESSIR! Any new preorder items, incl. the Toei Retro line, should be posted there once they are announced.
If you use IG, keep an eye on @sofvi.tokyo for info!

Yup! sofvi.tokyo is definitely the best source for news on upcoming releases (I believe it's run by Medicom). They usually make announcements around the middle of the month and then pre-orders open on the 24th in your local time zone. Unfortunately (or fortunately... good for the wallet) middle size figures don't come every month, but you should typically expect to see at least a few every quarter. They're usually released 2 or 3 at a time; two Kamen Rider figures are usually accompanied by a single Barom 1 baddie. Alternatively you might see a new hero once in a while (e.g. Kikaider 01 was most recently added to the roster).

I recently started ordering from C.J.MART after MCT shipping charges started getting out of hand; they only offer DHL Express and it can cost almost $40 to ship a single standard size figure (and the charges increase substantially with each additional item). I ran a test and added the same figure to my cart on both sites... it costs $37 to ship one standard size figure @ MCT and 2,600yen (approx $18 USD) @ C.J.MART. Adding one more standard size figure to my cart the price went up to $68 @ MCT and only 3,700yen (approx $26 USD) @ C.J.MART.

As for U.S. retailers, Toy Art Gallery has started taking pre-orders on figures, but not always. They seem to be inconsistent on whether they decide to take pre-orders any given month, but I have noticed them doing so more frequently.

There's also Q Pop who stock quite a few but they don't take pre-orders and not everything they have for sale is on their website. The owner (I think?) Chris is a cool dude and he's been accommodating when I messaged him directly on Instagram.

Oh, most definitely. Middle size scale is 150mm. The 120mm mini sofubi are a bit smaller and only ever coupled with standard size figures (always a reissue of an existing mold, previously sold as Wonder Festival commemorative items but they've become a lot more common and less exclusive in recent history). They're also a bit simpler having only two pieces jointed at the waist.

Middle size figures are always sold individually, or at least that's been the case thus far. Most recently released for the period of March 24-April 30 were Ambassador Hell, a reissue of Eiking, and Sasoriruge from Barom 1.

X looks great! I haven't been overly jazzed about the way some of the other Riders have come off in middle size, but this one's just about perfect.

WOW, I guess so! Hope they continue to offer them at such a great price, going forward.

Yeah, at these new lower prices I might start ordering everything via Toy Art Gallery. It would be $56 shipped via C.J.MART so you're basically paying the same price with postage included (i.e. you won't find them for less anywhere else). In the past other U.S. retailers have charged a minimum of $65 for middle size figures. Seeing that one would be $48 shipped to my Tenso address, I think this is as close to Japanese retail as we're ever gonna get.
