LOVE that mixed-finish blank, wish we saw more of that. Your "river stone" comparison just above was perfectly apt. Toky used a similar technique on many of their Tomodachi robot toys recently, but I think it's less striking because all those toys are painted, and the technique doesn't look quite as clean. Insane!
Oh I hear ya - the matte/gloss black is incredible! And maybe peak BxH? But blue is my favorite color, and that particular shade of blue is essentially my favorite blue - so it just hits a personal sweet spot for me. Especially that blue on cream. But I can see that the black/black is a clear standout to most BxH fans.
