Sometimes older stuff gets bumped to the top of the page. I wonder if those things will get the label, too.

I was hoping that this new label would address this when it occurs.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that. Maybe that's the case. The Kamen rider is on page 1 and has no label.

What would be nice is if Mandarake just deleted the items that are sold. I know there's a feature to not show them, but what a waste of time...

Those sold listings are invaluable when you're researching product lines. I hope they keep those items forever.

I kind of agree with @C E, I find the new tag distracting and really doesn't add anything either, has you've said, Ryan. I could see it being more if this 'new' applied to items which have never appeared in the store before, rather than 'new' as in just arrived, or another version of something which has been on there. I think as it is the latter, these will be first in the list in any case. Seems like an unnecessary label.

But I guess more of a question is as to whether the 'new' one supercedes any existing listing, as in, typically when multiples of an item were available the one highlighted on the search list was chosen based on a different algorithm. I note at least for a Bullmark Dodongo mini it has chosen the 'new' one, but this could be coincidental. Maybe.

Another thing I am actually noticing/wondering about is, I see that this 'new item' tag lasts for a while, i.e. I am not sure when/if it gets removed from a listing, but after more than a day on some things I can still see it being highlighted, so that kind of means it makes even less sense.

@ultrakaiju It seems like it disappears after 24 hours or so.

Here's another question: what's the value of it in the first place? We're all looking, regardless. My guess is that it applies more to their printed matter than anything this board is generally hunting for. Maybe? Stuff that isn't so visually distinctive.

Yeah I think you nailed it, Nick. I was going through some listings I noted yesterday, some of which have the 'new' tag still, but others have lost it, so it must very much be linked to an exact window (~24 hrs) after the listing goes live on the website.
