Doesn't look like anyone's chatted about it yet, but can I get your guys' thoughts on Andor? I personally really enjoyed it. The whole "spy thriller" and "political intrigue" vibe of the show really stuck out to me and I think did the whole modern take on the Star Wars universe a great service.

I really liked Andor. The Mouse is two for two with the Cassian projects.

I feel like Andor is the first Star Wars for grown ups.

I loved Andor, it more than made up for the awfulness of Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan.

However, I could have done without that end credit scene.
    1. The style of the camerawork clashed with the naturalistic approach of everything else we've seen in the series. I see how they were matching it with the opening title, and it also seemed to ape the opening shot of 2001, but I didn't appreciate it.
    2. You're telling me that whole operation to assemble delicate mirrors and lenses is totally exposed to space? No drydock? And on top of that, it's in orbit around a planet? Building something like that where abundant space junk can easily wreck makes zero sense.
    3. I felt it was best not to know what the prisoners were making. Now we know Andor was helping build the machine that was eventually going to kill him, which is a little too cute and again, goes against the naturalistic storytelling. (Tony Gilroy said that he hadn't thought much about what the prisoners were making and mused that it would be fun if we eventually saw another prison where a different set of inmates were disassembling them.)
    4. Does everything have to have a tag that connects the thing you're watching to everything else like in a Marvel movie? This sets a bad precedent.

The Mandalorian Season 3 premiere spoilers.

I enjoyed it a lot but it was mostly setup.

I loved the design of that dinosaur but as usual, the writers didn't really think about why it would behave like that. Like have you ever seen an alligator jump out of the water to attack a group of crickets?

The clan's response to it was also dumb. They spend several minutes shooting at the monster with no effect, trying to kill it with grenades (ensuring the lowest chance of success by attaching them to the shell, the most heavily armored part of the beast), and then start firing their grappling hooks into it with no apparent strategy.

Here's an idea: get your guys with jetpacks to use their flamethrowers on the dino's eyeballs. You won't kill it but you may cause it enough pain to leave. As incompetent as Stormtroopers are, I feel like they would have enough sense to just run away.

As silly as that scene was, it did look great. The pirate ship design was also awesome, a repurposed Super Star Destroyer design from the old Dark Empire comics painted up like a Chris Foss illustration.

Ahsoka trailer looks sweet if you've watched Rebels. May have to do a rewatch before August. A couple Clone Wars episodes would fit in with Mando currently too.

I just heard celebration 2023 is happening/happened? Has Filoni/Faverau or anyone at Disney explained why or apologized for “The Book of Boba Fett”?

No idea on the apology, but from what I gather the UK SW Celebration is sounding like an overpriced dumpster fire!

They won't apologize for that disaster. They probably wanted to ruin it from the begining considering they have dart boards in there offices with Luke Skywalker on them. The only way Star Wars will ever heal is if you purge the company from the very top. Get some one that actually cares about source material and the franchise can rebound.

This is a long shot, but if anyone here knows a toy dealer that has a lot of old vintage Star Wars figures, like, a lot, I am looking to buy a few characters in bulk. Thank you.

I'm in Cincinnati (the land of Kenner Toys!), And there's a local shop called "The Toy Department" that routinely has vintage Star Wars stuff.

They typically only sell in-store, but if you're close enough for a trip or possibly spending enough to change their mind over the phone you might give them a call.

They're moving to a new location in a couple of weeks for a new grand opening so not sure if that would make them more or less inclined...

If you are a fan of vintage Star Wars, BUY THIS: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805557673278.html - 12" Stormtrooper constructed exactly like the original Kenner toy. No idea why but it is deeply discounted. I just got it for $12.39 including shipping.
