Lately I've been listening to just about everything Rabbithole puts out. Primarily lo-fi, vaporwave, and other -waves music. https://youtube.com/c/rabbitholefm
Not the biggest fan of the vocals, but the music and message is great. Who doesn’t want to beat the shit out of racist scumbags?
https://brutalismus3000.bandcamp.com/track/atmosf-ra-2 "nu gabber post techno punk from berlin with love" This track quite nicely riffs on Bauhaus' 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' at the beginning and elsewhere. The other trax on the EP are raucous fun, too. Play loud, scare your neighbors.
I’ve been listening to Hip Hop for the past 40 years. I grew up an hour from New York City and remember hearing Hip Hop and Dancehall Reggae every Friday and Saturday night on 98.7 KISS FM. As a kid, I went to so many Hip Hip shows! I remember seeing Onyx, Leaders of the New School, Brand Nubian, Shabba Ranks, SuperCat, KRS-1, KMD, De La Soul, Biz Marke, Tribe Called Quest , The Fat Boys and Run DMC all before I graduated high school. I decided to make a playlist of some of my favorite tunes throughout the decades. I hope you enjoy it if you decide to listen! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4z5Z6dadWFCWY54dSWxoSD?si=vqJoaxYIRqydskliXSJcNg
To close off this year, here’s an odd trio mix: 1. Boris - W (Sacred Bones) 2. VA - Artificial Intelligence (Warp) 3. Burial - Antidawn (Hyperdub)
Nicole Dollanganger’s new album dropped today, and it is sadness incarnate. I am infatuated with this woman.
This blew my mind today. I found it super fun to listen to—it made a believer out of me. I usually skip stuff that is balls-out heavy with the scream-and-sing element.
