I really like it BUT I wish the heads were slightly larger. In some of the photos the ratio of the heads to body looks a little wonky. But it could just be the photos. I’d love to get one in hand to find out for myself.
@Brooklyn_Vinyl I actually really like the head size. I look at the proportions of the big feet, the long ass arms, the giant body, and then these small(not tiny) heads and I get a great sense of cartoony Frankenstein’s monster. The overall silhouette makes me think of Gossamer from Looney Tunes or when Tweety drank Jekyll/Hyde potion in the “Hyde and Go Tweet” episode, just both with two heads atop!
@JoeMan I can totally see it now that you’ve made the comparison. Slightly larger heads would probably look cool, but I think they look great as is! I do wish the bones were painted, though. But we’ll probably see that next with the skulls and bones painted.
I think I would like it a lot more with the Frankenstein head of their newer toy than those little heads. Yet I still kinda want it.
Nah, I think the Sketch Monster head is way too textured for this body. I really like the OG Skull Kun heads and think they work extremely well! I do wish the wrists were articulated, though. It’s gonna be a painful pose to raise the arms and not be able to have the hands palms down for a classic look!
Fair enough, they would need to simplify it quite a bit. I didn’t even looked at the hands… too busy wrapping my head around… the heads. The real question is … white or yellow eyes?
Oh, I definitely want the white eyes. When it comes to BxH it’s black and white first, all day. Realistically I’d take either version, but the white eyes is the preference. Though I will say it is a bit strange to make two different versions and have something overly minimal like the eyes being the only differentiator.
Caught a photo of this 2-headed Kun the other day, and it seems to dwarf Bemon's 2HB! Very impressive chunk of plastic right there. I'm not usually one for the original Kun, but the mammoth proportions of this guy, the combination of very smooth curved styling and sheer bulk, really grabbed me. I won't be able to ante up for one, and it wouldn't fit in my collection as it is, but man, what a toy.
Designd by Sin Takizawa from Neighborhood, which may explain the 'new' interpretation on the traditional Kun.
I can’t wait to get mine in hand. Seeing it in collectors’ hands for gauging size can only provide so much of an idea of how big or small a toy is. And Andy, thank you for that tidbit of info! I was wondering in what way(s) this was a Neighborhood collab, other than the pairing shirt you could purchase alongside the toy. I’d also love to know if it has an official name.
So many being flipped for not much more than retail (as opposed to the usual hype beast 500% instaflip) . . . I like this trend!
I don’t know enough about the release to know the difference but I see that the ‘grey’ eyed version is selling for at least double what the yellow eyed version is. Less made?
Didn't actually notice that! 'Grey' (I think it's actually white) was released via the Bounty Hunter stores. Yellow via Neighbourhood. Maybe it's the uneducated Neighborhood clientele selling too cheap . . . or the BxH chancers trying it on!
Actually way less than I feared (for now). Might go against my last post and scoop the Neighborhood one, if prices hold out.
came across a dx kun I've never seen before on ebay. It resembles the GID, but the body seems greener and the helmet is orange/green. Anyone have knowledge on this one?
Sure it's not the same GID with pink, seen on page 8 in the BxH-thread? Might just be the light making the green reflect and "color" the helmet green? http://skullbrain.org/bb/index.php?threads/bxh.13053/page-8#post-988901 and http://skullbrain.org/bb/index.php?threads/bxh.13053/page-8#post-988905
Yeah. Not a fan of the gold or matte but if it was a shiny black blank with gaudy yellow sprays that would be a different story for me
The glossy black vinyl and gold *looks* great, but it’s not somethin’ I’d go out of my way to hunt down. Would look rad in a boujee ass display setting with warm tones and colors, but I’m gonna pass.
The listing says that 'the head parts are self-painted,' which I would take to mean that it is a custom.
