I've only seen Godzilla, Baragon and Rodan. I did not know that there was also an 80's bootleg from the Hedorah, I would like to hunt one of those.
Don't know if this is the right place for them, but I have these bootleg blowmolded kaiju and dinosaurs from Mexico, I think they are bootlegs of Dor-Mei Kaiju toys (don't know about the more "normal" dinosaurs).
@Matt_Ramírez , I think they go in the Chinese section ,I'm not completely sure (calling @toothaction ,@ultrakaiju, etc.) but they're fantastic! That's a really nice collection of them that you have there. Not sure if it's just your great photographs, but they also look like they're in pretty wonderful condition.
Thank you!, they are in good condition (mostly because they have been resting inside a dark cupboard for 10+ years), I said they are from mexico because thats the place i got them (well, a city near my home town that we visit cuz family), back in the day food markets and flea markets were full of this kind of toys and because the chinese ones used to be made of hard vinyl and mexico has a long tradition of producing cheap blow molded bootlegs, but is an assumption. I do have an original Dor-Mei "Godzilla", but is one of the big ones produced in the 90's.
There is a thread about the Mexican bootleg I think that would be the right place for your post. But I must say that you have a good bootleg collection, love those blowmodel figures.
Sorry I didn't saw it, since its a somewhat old thread it got lost but the stuff in there is great! (been looking for a chupacabras bootleg like crazy) and is nice to see you also have a 2 headed kaiju, I also have a Pterodactyl but it was too big for the lightbox. Blow molded stuff got pretty rare (at least in my town), the only stuff i found recently was an Iron Man and Batman blow molded figures (both 35 cm aprox.), got the Iron Man one, the Bat Man will be for another day (I also saw a REALLY bad Bat Man bootleg that i just need in my collection). Also got one of those Mazinger Z "Edición Impacto" figures and transparent rubber bootleg figures.
@Matt_Ramírez There are many interesting blow model figures made in Mexico, there are the vintage versions and some modern made from the 2000 to now, the figure of the mazinger sounds interesting.
Only Seen two of these and I own em both Vintage 15 inch blowmold KOs different legs Slightly different paint
I think the Mr T is Mexican buuuut I kinda Remember reading the Mazinger is Argentina could be wrong.. Either way love em!
Never seen this triceratops/bronto mash up but I absolutely love it. Sure, the skin doesn't match but who cares, the form is amazing.
Found another J-tail bootleg... and it's a beast! Spoiler Haha... a tiny 3in/7cm resin toy.. possibly a candy/gacha bootleg: The paint around the mouth is pretty wild: I have seen a couple photos of these before. I would be interested in picking up a few more of them in different colors.
A larger Imperial bootleg at 8.5"/22cm tall on very dense material weighing 11oz/.31kg. This thing could stomp other vinyl toys or accidentally injure somebody if not careful. The look could possibly be inspired by the MogeGoji/DesuGoji suits so maybe from the 90's. The listing said it was purchased in Thailand.
This giant poly goji bootleg was hiding in the Buyee warehouse for over a year while I was waiting for EMS to open up again. For a quick and dirty copy of the Bullmark giant is has a certain crude and ugly charm. It looks like a burned and scarred beast.
Excellent one, Mark! It is such a nice treat to get a parcel of something like this you've all but forgotten about as it has languished somewhere for one reason or another. And I could not agree more on this toy - such an underrated delight. For such a massive chunk of poly vinyl, and such a delightful riff on one of the best vintage Bullmark sculpts, this Goji is amazing. Even more impressive that they still somehow remain so cheap and accessible to all; everyone with even just a cursory interest in Godzilla or vintage toys should adopt one, I highly recommend it. You've got a really nice version there, excellent paints overall, and so nice to see a lot of that black still present to pop the sculpt details even more, and extra lovely bonus to have that amount of silvering highlights. A beauty for any shelf. Well done.
