Nakano is usually pretty fast for me, but I guess there are several stores within the Broadway building, so it may depend on the store.

Any stores other than Nakano, CoCoo and Shibuya can be pretty variable. I have had several orders sit for over 3 days before being confirmed, so I wouldn't be too worried yet.

I’d just add that if you send them a message I believe the turnaround is 2-3 years.

Haha thanks all. It was grand chaos and I woke up to a payment page this morning. Just your typical generalized anxiety of the nerd variety.

Just curious if anyone else has been having regular problems for a while now (on the order of days) with the site not loading correctly? Doesn't seem to be a browser problem for me, but for whatever reason it just fails to load over and over, and only occasionally after several refreshes can you get anywhere. I noticed the other day that specific links seemed to work, but that the sofubi category didn't, so thought maybe they were re-categorising the address or something, but now it is problems non-stop. It has generally been going very slow and taking a long time to load for a good while, but either I've broken it on my computer or they are doing maintenance.

Yep, busted for me, too. I can get from the splash page to the main page, but then if I search for something I get a page saying, "The service is unavailable."

It's broken for me too this afternoon .I noticed a different item page layout popping up for Cocoo a few times recently so maybe some maintenance is going on.

No problem. While I am at it I'll also reset everything to c. 2007 prices, as probably every/most thing that came since then is nothing but hype toyz anyways. Fruits included.

That's an easy fix. Just take the extra zero off the end of every price!

It almost works for me but then it stops and crashes about every 3rd page. AAF. Buyee seems to have problems as well... might as well go back to carrier pigeons and mail order.

Ugh! Tried to login multiple times using Safari Firefox, but just kept getting invalid account messages. Reset my password using Chrome and was able to login only using Chrome. Took awhile, and Mandarake made me re-confirm my info, but was able to snag a goodie! Phew!!! Just curious, anyone having issues loggin in, using Firefox?

I wonder how long before they clear sold out listings from the website. Of course there is stuff I have seen sold there in the past but it is no longer listed. For example, I'm feeling a slight drought on select vintage Bullmark figures but I can't even see them as part of the sold out listings which makes me think its been a good while since they were on the marketplace for Mandarake.

I have really serached but I can't find any information regarding my question.

I often search Mandarake for old/sold out items to get a hint on the price range. Some listings don't have any information about size and shipping cost.
Is there an "official change date" of information regarding this on the Mandarake site?

Hi Henrik, I am afraid that for both things, it is very difficult to assess past costs. Shipping is definitely an unknown, as it will very much depend on the size and weight of the item, the type of box and packaging Mandarake choose to use for it, and of course what methods are available (and you choose) to use. So for that reason, you can really only rely on your own experience as the best estimate I think. You will generally get a feel for it once you buy things from there, e.g. most standard sized sofubi will be roughly the same size and weight, so plus and minus, you know what to expect. It can also differ from shop to shop, which is another quirk (i.e. the same item can be assessed very differently depending on where you buy it from). All that being said, if you had something specific in mind, and it wasn't something a bit more unique (e.g. a large framed poster) we can probably give a ballpark range.

In terms of sold out items, again, not so straightforward, but you can sometimes find older listing, either by directly googling, which can turn up the older listings, or limiting searches to different shops, which can then cut out at least some of the extraneous ones. But one note of caution here is that, while you can find older listings, this can sometimes be a catch-22, as there is no date, and Mandarake has [nearly?] all of its old listings still viewable, so with all of the price fluctuations - and especially the surge is sofubi prices, at least for vintage right now - you'd have to take any 'historical' sale price with a heavy grain of salt, would be my advice. The value in these silly toys also, at the end of the day, comes down very much to a personal choice; most people would heavily roll their eyes at any of them, no matter if they were free. ;)

Thanks for your clarification and great advices. It's so hard sometimes to determ if the price I see is fair or not when I don't know if the toy is rare or not or has been in circulation. Sure, sometimes I have a feeling but after all I'm a newbie and need to run slowly and do my research.

PS. Thanx your post in the introduction thread :)

Curious to see the latest wave of post-event hypebeast specific sofubi and their telephone # price tags hit the site today.

Am I even a real collector (bro!) . . . if I have zero interest in most everything listed! :?

It should be easy for someone to attend Wonderfest Sunday, scoop up a copy of something, and sell it to Mandarake on Monday. The makers themselves could also be selling directly to Mandarake, too, couldn't they?

FYI: When browsing older listing to estimate the price it is actually hard to decipher when it was sold. Some of the prices are quite outdated and not really relevant.

One thing: two years ago 10,000 yen = $100 USD. Now that is $75

There are still deals to be had on Mandarake right now. If the Yen recovers and they continue to raise prices it won't be so good.

Interesting addition. The newest stuff was always the most recently listed stuff anyhow. Don't see this really changing anything.
