Holy Triforce, Batman, I cannot believe this is a thing. I am beyond elated, appreciative and so, so excited to have come into this Cinema Monster blank. This was never something I actively searched for, or even thought possible, as it wasn’t something that was made readily available. But by way of third party this beautiful, blank green monster has made its way into my home, as has its pillar and two test pull pillars. Accompanied by its subsequently painted brethren, here, I now own the first vinyl, the first painted run, and the first painted one off of Secretoy’s Cinema Monster. This monster really does represent something much more than just a bad ass toy to me, and having this piece of neo - kaiju history in my collection is just...amazing.

Originally a test paint by Joe, this Krono narrowly escaped being the first painted run in March of 2016. It was later offered as a one off in a Stranger Factory show later that year in May. I genuinely toiled over my Krono shelves for about 25 minutes, trying to figure out which one would be best visually suited for the beach settings I was heading to the following morning. I eventually decided on this test, and also wanted its detailed glory to live in the void of Infinity Glass Style Studio Shot. Sorry for always singlehandedly flooding your thread, Joe.

@rattanicus Thank you, Rei! Cowramel came to me after almost 24 hours without sleep, when the best ideas birth in the brain! Shirahama Seikei did incredibly incredible with these pours, and Joe’s color/lamé selection is choice!!!

@Max Rodriguez Thanks so much, Max! The lens is definitely a huge, huge proponent for what I’m able to accomplish in post edit! Getting the textures and colors are always my biggest goal!

At this point I’m pretty sure I’m the only person here that still derives enjoyment out of both contributing and reading this thread.

Krono one off from Stranger Factory 2016. The subtle greens and metallic purples are tucked so nicely. Thinly layered and surrounding the darker browns on the pecs and face. The more fleshy palms and undercarriage/buttocks has a nice, “skin - like” tone of spray, as well. This is the third version I have painted over the terracotta orange base vinyl.

Kuteness overload comes in the form of Baby Krono. Initially I had really thought of Vinyl Paradise Parababy series when I saw this, but @animator pointed out on Joe’s reveal post that it’s much more akin to M1Go’s baby series, a la the seated position and the bottom plug. Even as a single pull Joe put in a lot of detail and kept true to the original Krono form factor, while being able to re - identify the creature as an infant. The belly hugging hands and raised fists, arms positioned as if it’s almost in a fit of tantrum rage. And it’s bottom plug, aligning itself slightly with the Secretoy mantra “Lucky Bastard”, donning the apt “Lucky Mama”. I hope to see many more of these released over time to comparatively sit in numbers amongst its whopper of a papa.

Hot damn these are gorgeous! Both the DX body and Bone Usir head are rich with texture.

@Max Rodriguez Gorgeous, indeed! Secretoy’s first and last painted runs of the Bone Usir DX. By far the best and most fitting head, in my opinion.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’d say the actual original head is the most fitting on the toy...

However I get that it’s SB and would like to pretend that even on my own toy I don’t exist....

No disrespect to Joe, but I’d never make a colab with him then say that my head is better than what he did originally for his own toy....

The Bone Usir head on the DX body is an excellent aesthetic fit. The versatility of the DX body really shows the strength of that design as a platform since it fits organically with so many other artists, whether its Paul's Sludge Kraken, Joe's Bone Usir or Uncle Steve, Grody's Peanut, or Rampage's rotten head. Nothing feels like an afterthought and it's almost like they were all designed from clay together.

Can we talk about the double whammy of the new Uncle Steves?

I love the density of the silver glitter. The purple streak across the face with the one colored eye is also a great visual effect.

And as for the Valentine's Steve, I wonder if the vinyl cape is a one-off thing or something that Joe will be using again in the future? A rotting zombie in a tuxedo as a token of love is pretty damn fun!

^^^ Not on my radar so never really noticed until now, but the proportions of these are as janky as f*ck . . . and they're all the better for it!

@kid_miracleman Versatile, indeed! The body’s served well as a foundation, no doubt, and I appreciate that fact. I simply find the Bone Usir to have organically made its way to being the quintessential pairing.

To your contribution, though, the Uncle Steve actually falls under the Splurrt moniker! Even still, these two releases are so fantastic. I’m very happy to see this festering fellow’s return. That lamé suited, green skinned version is GORGEOUS. I’ve already talked about this on posts, but I’m really liking the separation in vinyl colors between the head and the suit. Gives it more distinction. Joe’s choice to highlight things like the pockets, lapels, bow tie, dress shirt and rose with sprays, but leaving the suit itself to vinyl base, is a great visual method.

The capes take me a while to make I basically cut them all by hand with an exacto. And the vinyl I found isn’t perfect, I thinks it was the heat stick vinyl and one side is very glossy and gets a lot of smudges so I actually had to paint them with black vinyl paint to get rid of the high gloss. But the paint covers and adheres very well since it is vinyl paint and the end result is nice, just haven’t hammered out the details. I’m pretty sure all the Japanese makers that do capes like medicom probably have some factory that makes them and it probably adds a dollar to the cost per figure. But it’s a little too involved for me to do on anything more than a micro run, unless I could find a factory to make a bulk of them.

Number 20. Unfortunately nothin’ struck me in terms of self naming this like I tend to do. But the yellow, blue and green sprays lay very nicely on the GID vinyl base. The bronze on the horn, snout and chest pop off against the black accents in the pec muscles, around the eyes and inside the mouth. Super radioactive lookin’ release.

Aaron can get you the cape material most makers use, and if you want ( if you buy bulk) cut to shape.

I'm trying to get these made at Obitsu, but they are telling me for the quantity I'm asking for the price will be too high. I told them to give me a quote anyways, but no response yet.

Just ask Aaron, I have one toy at Obitsu now and literally every thing they do is twice or three times the cost of everywhere else.
