Re: who is this??? oh.. interesting. I found a pic of an unpainted green one years and years ago(maybe 5 or so..), but didn't think it ever went into production. Now that I think about it, it could have actually been the wax. I'll be curious if anyone can figure out the company.
Re: who is this??? NO idea Spoiler the Idol monster post in Hobby Japan & making another pre-order in mandarake http://www.mandarake.co.jp/information/ ... in/en.html LEOそふび坊や 偶像怪獣 WF2014冬 7-22-07 by Leo_sofvi_bouya, on Flickr
Re: who is this??? Yoda from Cosmo Alpha posted some pictures on IG a while ago, also a Japanese collector I follow but I can't recall the name, all the info was in Japanese
Re: who is this??? hmmm... a wonderfest release. I wonder if it's a licensed character. Maybe the one I saw years ago was by a different company... I'll try to dig up the pic. also, no bids. The seller might just be shooting for the moon.
Re: who is this??? I remember seeing a post on instagram in Japanese with GEEK! in amongst some Japanese text.. I'm guessing it's another GEEK! release?? Could be wrong though..
Re: who is this??? ^^ Really? Leo Sofvi Bouya is the owner of Bear Model? I was wondering how he managed to have so much pull with Mandarake recently! That answers my question . . . .
Re: who is this??? I don't think he is Bear Model owner. Bear Model is always listed separately from Leo Sofvi Bouya. Also a blog I found for him with comments by him in response to someone else also hints that he's not the owner of Bear Model. He mentions in one response he model the figure and Bear Model did the manufacturing. Also his flickr account only states he did painting on Bear Model and Medicom figures as exclusives. Nothing more. The Bear Model website list Hideki-san as the shop owner.
Re: who is this??? I'll take a 2-headed Bemon at that price. I think Chris is right about the seller shooting for the moon on this one.
Re: who is this??? The auction description says the seller is an acquaintance of the maker. 偶像怪獣 translates as Gūzō Kaiju or Idol Kaiju. On his IG (leo_sovbi_bouya), he says it was supposed to be sold at WF but he didn't end up going because of the snow. He sold out afterwards though. A second version is planned... He never mentioned the price, so no idea if that one was inflated.
Re: who is this??? The price, the pics on yoda IG, also the buyer on yja...everything is meticulously thought to hype this toy and to make money on it. Still, is a very interesting toy IMO. Also, I heard from a friend it is inspired by an old cheep toy.
Re: who is this??? OK... found my pic: Photo was taken in 2009. I got it from a blog, but don't remember which one. It's clearly a different sculpt, and I'm thinking blow molded. Could be vintage??? could also be uncleaned wax, but I dunnnooo...
