So I just talked to my lady on the phone and she told me that on Monday there will be two moons in the sky???!!! Basically the moon and Planet Mars will be almost next to each other, making you able to see two dots in the sky. Anyone else heard of this? If it's true or not, you should look up at night and see. Doesn't hurt to look up once in a while. I heard that this is the only time until the year 2200(or something like that). So basically this will be the only time in our life to see such thing. cool....
I love to look up. My trips to Hawaii and the Virgin Islands have had amazing star gazing. Loads of falling stars, constellations, etc... From about 9 pm until way late...
But Mars is so far away it'll still be a dot compared to the moon Like the millenium falcon flying towards the death star
thats true. But still might be cool to see a red dot. Imma have a beer in one hand and sit in a lawnchair and look. If not there, imma down that bear mand punch myself still i see many red dots to be happy.
I don't know about the Mars thing, but there is going to be an amazing lunar eclipse visible from five continents, including much of North America on Aug. 28, just after midnight PST. I'm looking forward to it. http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2007/03aug_dreamyeclipse.htm
mars was closer than earth than ever before at this time in the year 2003 it was the brightest object in the sky besides the moon but every summer since then, it has been another e-hoax forwarded around the world's email boxes in the month of august
Wicked, thanks for the notice, I always hear about them on the news after they've happened, heh. This time I know in advance, woo!
I was just watching it but I'm working so couldn't stay once the total eclipse started, but it's going to last for a few more hours!
i was thinking of staying up but once i stepped outside i was surrounded by a thick fog. Thats what i get for living in SF right near the beach.....
not complaining. Just bummed that i couldn't see it because of the fog. Either than not being able to see it last night, I love where I live.
