NYCC's Facebook page is on fire with angst. No surprise. Thousands of people are competing for the same thing. The real test of this fan verification thing will be how many are scalped on ebay and stub hub.
Tickets are already up on the bay, but you can only sell to someone who is verified. People are going to wait it out for two more weeks in case more tickets become available. It has to be a big hit to scalpers, regardless.
After 1 hour and 50 minutes I finally got through and snagged a Thursday pass for me and my lady, can't wait!! Now let's just hope for some awesome sofubi releases!
Just got a Sunday ticket, which means chances of exclusives are slim, but sometimes you get good deals because people don't want to pack up their stuff. Also people are hung over from Saturday night, and don't show up, so it's less packed.
I was able to buy 4 days after 45 minutes. The system is a mess. People that go every year should receive purchasing priority like at sdcc.
Damn NYCC is getting harder to score tickets than SDCC, I remember like 3 years ago tickets were still available after a week.
I clicked my link at exactly the time they went on sale (Wednesday at Noon ET) and was in the queue for almost 2 hours before being able to buy 2 Thursday tickets (which seem to be the only type still available at this time). Not sure what the queue is like now.
I was anticipating that this whole new "verification" process would've made the ticket purchasing smoother than in past years. Especially for those that go year after year. It's sad to see that the queue system is still a mess when it doesn't have to be.
I was in the queue for like an hour and a half. Scored a four day. I didn't like the whole ticket assigning thing the next day.
The issue now is that friends that did the fan verification cannot assign the tickets to themselves. Anyone else having this issue?
So many problems still. You think they would've gotten everything ironed out and wired so it's easier for everyone. Especially with the ticket prices they're charging. There's always hope that they get it dialed in someday.
Just love the people on their Twitter complaining not knowing about being verify. Also a mvh show would make this a great weekend.
I would like to see a charity toy auction at nycc. I attend the art auction every year and a toy auction would be a nice change. I would be worried about the turn out if they held one.
I agree. It's a nice sentiment, but I wouldn't be super-jazzed to see it come to fruition only to be exploited by flippers.
A little pissed about that. Didn't buy tickets for my SO because she wasn't verified. Now I'll have to buy scalped tickets.
